  2. Great pictures. And your work in is always top notch. I am however wondering, what is it in the APO image that makes it better vs the Panasonic 50 in these two images. Looking at these images on a screen I have trouble finding any flaws in either. and what makes the APO "reference" vs the very good Panasonic. Interested to see if anyone is able to find a difference.
  3. Yes it is for the geographic coordinates. I do not always remember where photos are taken. If I am lucky, I still know in what town, but maybe nit where exactly. Before I had this possibility, I used to take a shot here and there with my iPhone not for the picture but just to have the coordinates when I revisit them years later.

  6. Used the SL3 extensively in Japan for a 3 week holiday. Although my experience with the SL3 was mainly positive, I almost had a nervous breakdown when I thought I lost some photos. Fortunately, it was merely due to a new setting in the menu called the bloody #$&@?% Group Display Mode !!! https://fotonutzz.com/reviews/f/full-review-of-the-sl3-in-japan
  7. I would say 60x90cm or larger, in most cases. As Luke mentioned, however, cropping is also a consideration.

  10. This might be a small point, but you said ‘practically’…. 🙂 I can’t stress enough this is an all or nothing camera! Unless you have a really good reason to concentrate on B&W I would stick with a Q3.
  11. Initially, I had this issue too. When I took a series of similar photos, it would "disappear" after reviewing it on the camera. While scrolling thru the menu, I stumbled upon a GROUP DISPLAY MODE. When I turned off the option, all the photos appeared back. Apparently, the SL3 groups all the similar photos together. Fortunately, mine were all intact and not lost. Can refer to page 186 of the SL3 manual.
  12. Interesting! More photos with this lens please

  14. Yes, the A7R4. I am Italy through early June with my Leicas; my R5 is back home. My friend, an instructor with our local camera club, thought as you do about his R4. I went into his R4 settings, found them identical as mine for these purposes, and changed his settings to enable the shutter close on turning the camera off. I will be happy to walk through this with you when I have my R5 in hand. I expect you will find the right path beforehand.
  15. Nice results! thanks for sharing your DIY link
  16. I have both the 50 and the 35 SL Crons (non-Apo) and prefer them over the Apo's which are simply too expensive and too heavy for me. The AF of the Crons is also considerably better. Yes, the Apo's are better in respect of IQ, but for day-to-day use, I prefer the Crons (most people wouldn't notice if a picture is taken with an Apo or a Cron, it's all about the subject).
  17. Just spent 10 minutes trying to find some mention about this online – found nothing. We are talking about the Sony ⍺7RIV (ILCE-7RM4) right? The only mentions I could find are for the cheaper, lower-spec ⍺7IV (ILCE-7M4) or (obviously) the ⍺7RV (ILCE-7RM5). ???

  19. I guess you're talking particularily about the Leica lenses, but most of the Sigma prime lenses offer an aperture ring. So does the excellent 50/1.4 from Panasonic. Why Leica omitted them is a mystery. Probably a design decission. Or they'd have to be even more expensive, since it's a more complicated build.
