  2. Besides of my S3, Q2 and Fuji XPro1 (plus 3 lensens) I have the M 10-R (plus 4 lenses) but the latter is my absolute favorite. I never think to switch over to the M 11. Bear in mind the faults reported in this Forum.
  3. Read up about the loss of a lower base iso and dynamic range with the global shutter, less flexibility in post with RAW files, noisier high iso's. It would be a step backwards for Leica, and really make no sense in a camera that has no autofocus lenses. The Sony is an extreme sports machine and that's about it.
  4. Petereprice what exactly did you mean by "newer lenses on my SL3" if you don't mind? New vs older SL lenses like 2018 24-90 SL vs 2023 of the same? Or, new as in new panasonic and sigma models etc, etc.

  9. Thank you all for your suggestions! I think taking two cameras is a bit of an overkill. I'm leaning towards the 50+28 combo - it covers the 35 mm FOV with some cropping and should be enough for indoor shots. I'll test it in Scotland in a couple of weeks
  10. I prefer in this example clearly the apo image but I dont think it has anything to do with the lens
  11. A quick update. The SD card on my Q3 will no longer snap into place. This happened while I was on a trip. When I got home I took to back to the Leica Store in Washington, DC, where I puchased the camera. They are sending it to Leica in NJ for a repair. I have become quite attached to the Q3. I don't know how long the repair will take. I did look at the M11-P while I was in the store but I remain undecided. There just is something different about a Leica.
  12. Hi Dirk Thank you and yup, you're right. For most of the general photography like food, street signs, candids, I only shoot in JPG. I'll only enable DNG if I'm shooting the sunset or backlit situations which I did on a few occasions while I was in Japan. I rarely shoot in raw now after realising that each DNG photo is more than 80MB. I normally shoot in DNG when I'm in the studios or when I need I know I have to edit the photos or if I'm taking photos in challenging lighting conditions.
  13. Yes, focus and recompose in AF-S can be a bit risky unless stopped down. Now that I use AF-C and Dynamic (Tracking) I can gain focus on the subject and compose without worry. The focus box will automatically remain on the subject while I compose the shot showing me that the focus point is still where I want it. I can now use wider apertures to separate the subject from the background.

The Sony A9III has a global shutter, was announced late last year and is available now to buy. Has a 24mp FF sensor.

  17. Today
  18. I started with the M8.2, then M9, and finally the M240. I stopped there. While the M10 and M11 are "better", the M240 does everything I need it to do.
  19. I shoot street with a Q2 and am M10-P. On the M I almost exclusively use the Summilux 24mm, occasionally the 35, but practically never anything beyond and never a 50. The Q2 works fine for me lens wise but what lets it down a bit in my view is the AF (MF on the M faster and more reliable) and noise (fixable in processing using AI Denoise) - the M10 files are far more malleable.

  21. Hi all, I have a non 6 bit coded 35mm Summilux on the SL2s and I swapped it out for another lens which I selected a profile for manually. When changing user profiles, it seemed to go back to the 35mm which was the lens selected at the time the profile was saved. Not sure if I'm doing anything wrong here but I thought that the lens selection is just a universal setting prior to this experience. Any input is appreciated. Thanks
