Description
This is an oddity. Basically this is a Mountain or Berg Elmar (105mm f/6.3) lens head mounted in a very well made custom mount. The lens is pretty clean with some 'blooming' and screws into the brass section which is fitted into a focus mount. It is obviously very non-standard but is well constructed. When I got it there was a rangefinder cam but it did not focus correctly and Malcolm Taylor looked at it and said that it could not be made to work because the slope was wrong and it was not worth trying to sort it out. The focus mount is a Leica LTM screw fit BUT it has a screw to bayonet adapter which seems to be of the type factory fitted to some LTM lenses to convert them to M - it has a lip which goes around the base of the lens. If it is this type of adapter its quite an unusual one. As it stands the lens needs to be used with an EVF but can be used with such Leica's or with adapters on many other cameras. The lens performs quite well but needs hood!!! as it flares easily (as might be expected for a 1930s lens).£120 and price includes postage within the UK. Elsewhere at cost.
