I have the opportunity to travel extensively for work. I have been interested in purchasing a Leica M series recently and have accidentally found out that the prices are quite a bit cheaper in London then they are in the US. Like 30-40% cheaper. I say accidentally because London is probably known as a very expensive city otherwise.

I was wondering whether there are any disadvantages of not benefiting from the Leica Passport program if you did not buy it in your country of residence? Or should I pony up the additional 1K that Leica in US wants to run their extended warranty program?
