  1. Leicatime wrist strap: I bought this strap for my SL a few years ago. I switched it to my SL2. As soon as Italy recovers, I will be ordering another one. The only metal fastener is hidden under the leather sheath. The leather is soft and very durable. Very high quality workmanship and leather. Looks and feels great.
  2. The strap looks great and the leather will only get nicer with age. The problem for me is that I hate metal or plastic buckles on a camera strap. Very often I shove the camera in a bag and no matter how careful I do it, the metal buckle could scratch the screen, etc. I prefer all leather. Maybe some sort of leather cover velcroed over the metal bucket would work so that only leather comes in touch with the camera.
  3. I haven't read the entire thread, so apologies if this has been covered. I'm thinking of purchasing a few used S lenses. What is Leica's policy for the Af fix if the lenses are bought used. Thanks! Richard
  4. I agree that an SL version will always have video and all those bells and whistles we expect from a pro camera. But IMHO, it is not unreasonable to think that Leica will produce a pared-down SL version - sans video - for those pro photographers who never shoot video.
  5. I agree ramarren. Let me amend my statement: Not only will the SL upgrade path follow the same upgrade path as the M: same megapixels, lighter, thinner, no video, etc., etc., it will also follow the same timeline.
  6. I'm hoping for more (megapixels), but the SL upgrade path might follow the same upgrade path as the M: same megapixels, lighter, thinner, no video, etc., etc.
  7. Has anyone tried this combo? If so, can you share your experience. Thanks.
  8. Here's a quick and dirty iPhone snap. The eye cup simply stretches over the rubber ring of the viewfinder.
  9. I bought the standard birder eyeshield. They have the EyeShield Winged Eye Cups and the EyeShield Winged Eye Cups for Birders. They are one and the same. The packaging is different to address different markets. My girlfriend is the one who discovered this - she too has an SL. She tried it in very bright sunlight and was ecstatic that it blocked all stray light. Upon her recommendation, I too bought it and couldn't be happier. She bought hers at B&H and I bought mine direct. RH
  10. For those who are having similar issues with stray light coming in through the viewfinder, I think I've found a very good solution. I purchased Field Optics Research Eyeshields. The shield fits perfectly over the viewfinder and makes an huge difference! The cup is easy to put on, fits snugly and doesn't get in the way of the buttons. FWIW: I have absolutely no affiliation with the company. RH
  11. I've been having a problem particularly in bright sunlight, shielding stray light while looking through the viewfinder. I wish Leica would make an eyecup for this purpose. RH
