  1. Indeed - but any piece of information given here might be a help to Leica, and be assured that Leica do know about this!
  2. I quite agree - same here - I have a series of cards which have worked in older cameras - I do usually format in the camera before shooting, but that's because it's part of my workflow . . . . at least the cards from the major manufacturers should work . . . on the other hand I don't really think the issue here is with the card, but with the camera (even if it manifests itself worse with some cards), and I'm sure that Leica are working really hard to get it fixed ASAP.
  3. That's dreadful - I shoot weddings, and I really sympathise - it happened to me once with a different camera in the middle of the ceremony - just trying to get my head around it. Are the file numbers missing? or just the images? ie is there a gap in the number sequence, or 'just' missing pictures. Was there a battery change at any point? I lost about 6 or 10 images when the battery was exhausted, I didn't notice at the time, changed the battery and carried on shooting. Images were missing, but there was no gap in the sequence, which rather implies that the problem was caused by the camera sequence reverting and overwriting the files . . . Glad you seem to be okay now Peter - when it happened to you were there gaps in the numbering sequence? I think that's the crucial issue here, when it happened to me in a small way there was no gap in the sequence (see above). Obviously I've talked to Leica about it, good to get information as accurately as possible. all the best Jono
  4. Hi There Tom This is the case, but it's likely to be sorted with firmware, and in the meantime if you put drive mode to 2frames per second and shoot single shots then there isn't any blackout. best Jono
  5. These are great Michael - the comparison is tougher, it looks like the light was nicer for the Telyt 180mm (sunny?) It looks really good though! all the best
  6. Leica I think - and I think the way to do it is in conjunction with Leica Looks - which they are already enthusiastic about. Go for it! I am 🤩
  7. I must dig out my M9M again - I haven't used it for a while . . . . rather nostalgic for that perCHang shutter noise!
  8. I quite agree . . . .but whilst they're about it why not do it with all the 'Leica Looks' . . .
  9. Hi Gordon The Lightroom connection is perhaps a possibility, but I would be really surprised if they produced monochrom DNG files as an option, because as Jaap says, it's a half baked solution and lots of people would use it and then complain that the files aren't as good as converting the DNG to monochrom in Lightroom (and they certainly wouldn't be as good). Personally I think it's a gimmick and I'm rather surprised that Nikon has done it. On the other hand I understand your desire, and I would have thought than an instruction to LR (which you have made in camera) would be a good option . . . . . which would give you the best of both worlds. Me? if I can't tell whether I meant it to be black and white or mono, then it doesn't seem that there is any harm making the decision again! best Jono
  10. Hi there It’s unbelievably small and light, at just under 300gm it’s less than half the weight of the SL APO, and it focuses notably faster on the SL3. I imagine that doing a detailed IQ comparison the APOs would be better. Still, this is 1/4 price! It has nice bokeh and goes down to 1:1 as well. I was expecting to have it in my bag for occasional use, but it’s actually a joy to use - although light and plasticky it does feel quite solid what’s not to like! all the best to you both Jono
  11. Thank you! a bit more literal, but the point was the blocks of colour, so I'm duly flattered!
