  1. Fixing the camera is not that hard only if you are experianced in fixing this kind of stuff, i have no issue as i fixed many cameras and lenses, if you are handy and have the tools required then this is no brainer but if you never fixed this kind of stuff most likely your camera will be as experiance dummy and end up in your closet or on an auction.
  2. I need a new Digilux to fix as i am addicted:) anybody have one they don't need any more as i will be glad to buy, and on this next fix project i could make a detailed video of the procedure.
  3. Just repaired two cameras and they work perfectly, it seems like the original ICX282AQ sensor was used in the Nikon E5700. The reason the sensor was failing was because of bad manufactoring if it, the little micro wire legs under the glass would seperate from the sensor part, this has nothing to do with humidity or hot climate as rumour goes. Ask me how i know it:)
  4. From the pictures the Leica seems to have a thicker glass on the sensor, i wonder how strong the anti-aliasing filter is on eather of the chips, did you have to move the filter glass stack from the Leica chip to the Sony one or did you just install the Sony chip the way it was?? Please let me know about the focus? sharpness and color, is all the way it was or did you notice that something differ, is everything 100% working? Please let me know as i would not like to demage this fine camera, i have no problem changing the chip as i have fixed many cameras but i just would like some help as far as what the chip was used for the exchange and the filter stack.
  5. Are you sure the Leica was ICX282AF as i can't find anything i mean zero info on this chip on the net, i found that Sony made ICX282AK/AKF/AQ/AQF and they seem to differ here is some info: http://www.sony.net/Products/SC-HP/cx_news_archives/img/pdf/vol_22/icx282.pdf Was your auto focus spot on after? or did you have to calibrate the sensor on the shims? is your camera as sharp as before? Could you check again if the Leica chip was ending with AF?? perhaps it was AK?? AK seems to be (complementary color, DIP) AQ seems to be (primary color, DIP) used in Sony F717 Did you notice any color difference after the operation??
  6. Hi, i have a Digilux 2 that i just purchased all seems to work but evf/lcd are black, all the menu and functions do get displayed on the evf/lcd which makes me think that my sensor is dead. Question i have to Mr. Corson is the sensor i the picture you posted of the dead Leica sensor or of the Sony f717 unit. I am asking as i am getting ready to buy a sensor for my repair and need to know if they look axactly the same, are the filters on the sensor the same thickness? did you just swap the sensors or did you have to swap the filters as well? Any other suggestions before i attempt this operation?
