  1. thanks for all the help guys, yeah it is an easy fix for the repair man just wanted to see if anyone else had this trouble. Apologies for my bad terminology didn't know to abbreviate what such a a crime! alas i have some time away from my lens as it gets repaired.
  2. Hi Guys My beloved v4 35 cron has broken (third time) it always repairs just fine but after a period of time the front section of the lens barrels slips and rotates freely, first time it was real shock and was fixed my a non leica specialised repair man, after a short period of time it happened again, i retired the camera for several years rather bitter then called aperture uk, (great shop and service) i shiped lens to them and it came back better than ever, now after two years it has slipped again, this is obviously an inherent fault with my version. Has anyone heard of this ? two of the times i was adding a filter and what felt like light screwing slipped the front of the lens. It can be fixed and the lens works fine but it is rather annoying and when i am used to shooting with the m6 daily it is rather awful to be without it and i only have one lens. which brings up another point, second hand cron 50 v4 or 50mm summit 2.5 i know the cron is the preferred choice but after this experience I'm a little nervous of s/h as my 35 appears totally mint on the exterior. thanks chaps and ladies.
  3. All great points thanks guys, i think i will consider it a bit more before the summer really arrives, but i do like using hyper focal distance and dont want to open uo too much, infact i intend where possible to shoot f8 and f 11, f 16 is too much sometimes and in the bright sun I'm stuck there often. but hellion are recommended? i have a b+w polariser for my eos system. optically great, build wise very disappointing,
  4. Hi Guys, Using my m6 a lot after several years of a break, had a clan and all good. I live in Malta and shoot mainly in the street, i shoot trix for flexibility as i shoot in varying situations 400 seems to cover me however often in bright light i have run out at 1/1000 and f 16 on my version 4 summicron 35mm. obviously filtration is the way forward as i do not want to drop my iso. my question is what brand and what level of nd should i go for. thanks
  5. Wow thanks guys, i had the camera from 2007, and unfortunately due to moving to malta and having no labs it sat for quite some time i recently found a hand printer.processor on the island so after four years i dusted her off, , i had a full service at aperture uk in london and an excellent service might i add, Steve i think what you said about double strokes is very likely true, Thanks for your help guys. i think i will run a roll of cheap film through on monday and see what happens before committing to send to london
  6. Hi Guys and Girls Having a bit of a meltdown, my m6 classic overlapped some frames, i thought nothing of it, them my developer called me ad told me ether are more on my last rolls, (have not seen them yet) i have read some threads regarding issues with the teeth etc on the wind on mechanism, i put an dud roll in the camera and carefully watched as the correct amount of holes passed for the full roll, i am also hopeful it could be the "active rewind nob being moved by my jacket as i wear it religiously under my jacket everyday on my motorbike commute, i hop it is this as posting for repairs is painful, please someone set my mind at rest at least and tell me it is at least a easy fix for an expert, as i ma really enjoying shooting at the moment.
