  1. Used both the Apo 180/3.4 and the Apo 280/4. Both highly recommended. Razor sharp. Easy to focus.
  2. Why would you want that? In order to have AF issues with the Fuji? LOL The Otus use is an interesting twist of history.
  3. If you use an M lens on the SL, do you need to open the aperture first to focus and then close it again? Or not?
  4. Do not forget that CS lenses are also noticeably heavier than non CS lenses. So, if you really don't need it and you like to carry your camera / lens everywhere, you will feel the difference.
  5. I am having a lot of fun with my 006 ...... and my Hasselblad HC lenses. Adapter is great. Works just like an S lens, but without the AF issues.
  6. I raised the issue several times at the Photokina, informing them that I am onyl using my HC lenses on the 006. And till this is fixed I am not buying any S glass. They are very concerned about it. It is top on their agenda, but they have no solution yet (as of Sept 21), contrary to what I heard from some dealers.
  7. Agree. I don't know why they took it off. I am very happy now that I have my RAWs on one card and the smaller JPEGS on another.
  8. My two sources were probably too optimistic. I could not get any confirmation at Photokina that the issue is solved. But, they take it very seriously, so they will eventually find a solution.
  9. After some private discussions at Photokina, I am not so optimistic about a solution in October. They are taking it very seriously, but they could not confirm yet, they had found THE solution. In the meantime, they will fix the lenses as long as it takes.
  10. Neil, I think you passed the test. I guess you are qualified to work in the Leica Communication Department : how to create excitement out of a small thing. I am not sure if this will really bring so many new "professional" users, IMHO. Got now from two independent sources that the metal replacement parts for the AF will be available as of October. Let's hope it is true. I will surely ask it again at the Photokina on Thursday.
  11. Thanks, guys. I tried it and it works perfectly (DNG on CF and JPEGs on SD). You need to put it in Parallel setting, not Sequential. Thanks for the advice on Compressed DNG.
  12. Both the R8 and the R9 are great cameras "as long as they last". I understood from a dealer in Amsterdam that the electronics can no longer be repaired, thus the low prices.
  13. Curious what the next 5 lenses are going to be.
