  1. I have an OM1 and OM2SP with an array of Zuiko Lens.... yes, very in-expensive. The thing about the MA is that one can buy one new or fairly new ....while the OM's are getting long in the tooth, although, still usable and small, light etc.... .... just find a good one.
  2. 🙂 far out!
  3. Excellent choice and really, the same reasons why I went with the MA. Sure...sure...sure... You can always not use the built in light meter but really, the temptation to use is too great. People say they won't use the light meter but they do. The MA forces you, to focus on just what you said....composition, focus, aperture and shutter. Glad to see you selected the MA...a beautiful camera.
  4. Shot in Southern Arizona USA....400 film
  5. Day of the Dead is this coming weekend, so this was for the celebration of Little Amal which is a large puppet who has become a global symbol of human rights, especially those of refuges. Amal is currently traveling between Mexico and the United States...in 2023. If you look at the map, you can see where Amal has been and where to next. See link here....https://www.walkwithamal.org
  6. Fomapan 400; 17 year old expired film.... Leica MA
  7. Shot with 400 Fomapan; 17 year expired film....
  8. it looks like on the M8 (new to me) , the only way to set up a BW mode is to have it on JPEG.... DNG will not allow me the option.... which makes sense. This isn't really a question but I figured out my main question of why the color saturation modes etc won't work (it was on DNG) but the 'forum' wouldn't allow me to erase my question once I found the answer on my own, thus...this more or less worthless post...sorry about that, jim
  9. Lesson learned for many....once you have a Leica....keep the Leica. No sell...never. To return to light meter or no light meter issue.... it is up to you. I have a MA and a M6, one having light meter and the other not. I usually always pull the MA out to shoot. One doesn't really need a light meter if you just know the light and the sunny 16 rule and , in my case....I shoot BW. As someone else mentioned with Henri, he usually shot the shadows and 5.6 or F8 works out well. I have to admit, that I do own a Sekonic Twinmate as well as a Voigtlander VC11 with one of them in my pocket. Just don't use em much.
  10. You said film?...egads, might I suggest the MA.
  11. Get the MA...take your photography to a new level and challenge yourself without the 'hint' of anything but the basics.
  12. Shot with Leica MA...35mm Voigtlander, 400 Fomapan....
  13. Shot with Leica MA...35mm Voigtlander, 400 Fomapan.... A bar that swings
