  2. Thank you! I have both the 1.4 and 2 X but have not stacked them.
  3. Thank you! I have the early version that does not have small drawer for a filter. I suspect that the Puts book shows the 2nd version with the filter.
  4. I have a 280mm F 2.8 R telephoto lens. It came with the Leitz Aluminun case, a black pad mount, a shoulder/neck strap, the lens, 2 lens covers. Erwin Puts book, the Leica Chronicles, shows a device or adaptor with the lens. Anybody know what the device is? Did it come with the lens originally?
  5. Is there any technical issue with using the occasional R type lens with the R to M adaptor (M-240 sequence).
  6. Peter: It Worked!! I think my wife did it when she reviewed some images. Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Jaeger, Yes, I never shoot on A. darylgo, interesting idea as the battery takes a charge and shoots images for extended periods of time. Yes, I have a second battery. Thanks
  8. I have used the M240 since 2014. It has been reliable and trouble free. Recently I have been unable to see the exposure values at the bottom of the screen as I change aperture settings. I have read the manual from cover to cover, in English. I have sent an email to the dealer, no one local sells Leica, and was told to check the info/display button on the back. I can not see the horizon line that I have selected either so images are tilted. Help Wayne

  10. I was in Philly last week and the grandkids and daughter came to keep the wife busy and company. I took the M-240 , so NOOOO she did not drop that one, and left her the D-Lux 3. They get to the aquarium in Boston and she does not have the wrist strap on. She fessed up right away but the the drop was right on the lens and now it won't retract, fully deploy, or take a picture. I went on the Leica website yesterday and downloaded the repair form, found the original box, etc. This morning I was going to package it up and get to the post office when I remembered my last Leica repair experience. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ but is was the R8 and digital camera back , fortunately they still had parts then. E BAY has many options for a replacement at a price that will be lower than the repair or even getting an estimate. I thought I would use the brain trust here on the Leica forum as to whether staying with the compact D-Lux Series? Panasonic? It needs to be a good carry around small unobtrusive camera. Thanks Wayne
  11. Charlie, It worked! I put the film back on a tripped the shutter a couple of times. The blinking 00 had disappeared on the switch. It took a while to put the DMR back on,it's not like its something you do all the time. The back finally slipped back on and voila'!! It's working great!!! Thanks Wayne
  12. Charlie, No to the winder half way and the multiple exposure slider. The shutter is closed. I will now take the back all the way off. Thanks Wayne
