  1. Maybe contact Paypal and have them refund/cancel your order because of wrong shipping address (that's your fault not the seller) and no response from vendor. The box will go to the address on your Paypal account, it has to to protect the seller. I would at the least put in a Paypal claim ASAP and have done w/it. He will definitely respond to that. No seller wants claims on their account. And lose the Paypal fees. But at least he is not as bad as Linhof which is a pure scam for replacing defective camera parts. Linhof purposefully mistates costs, then demands wire transfer only, then claims the wrong amount was sent and wont return funds or send the part. This happened to me last Dec. Then they have the gall to demand a 2nd wire transfer for the remaining funds. They tried to get me to send funds 2x's and not ship parts. Never send funds to Linhof...ever..you wont get the part, or a refund. They just steal your money. I was a sucker 1x...but not ever again will I endorse Linhof. Lesson learned.
  2. I really like that turn shot!
  3. My 50mm f2.8 Elmar-M flares a lot under the right circumstances...even w/hood. But that said.. it renders a very beautiful image indeed.
  4. WATE is a great lens and gets the shot.. What more could you ask for?
  5. Ahh...the lesson learned.. That these days... With current lenses.. One lens.. Is pretty much.. Just like the next one...lol..
  6. I said the same thing... M240.. Fat...bloated...later dude...dont want it.. Fast forward a few years.. Wanted to go back to a RF...and shoot video too.. Bought one... Wondered..why did I wait so long?
  7. Be very gentle w/it... The gears on mine got jammed up and someday I will send to Leica for a fix.
  8. As I get older..small size is important.. I just dont wanna carry that much stuff around.
  9. I said...a good one... Not an over priced largish non FF camera from an independent where you have to ship it to France for anything gone wrong..
  10. It's a good business strategy... Sell em...dont fix em... Make money $$$$... Back in the day Leica would replace an entire lens or body if you returned it... totally trashed..as in..you drove a truck over it. But they stopped all that...lol... I dont think anything is gonna change here..no need to. Solution.. Someone else needs to make a digital RF body..a good one..so there are options.. But is that gonna happen...nope..
  11. The Elmar a damn good lens. Has that fat rounded full "look". I heard that Leica cancelled it because it was eating into their more expensive 50mm lens sales. You probably are over thinking this.. Keep the one you like the handling on best...you will actually use it more.
  12. I just started using mine again as it works well on the M240 MP. I bought it new in 1989. About 15 years later..the haze started. I cant see much of a difference though. Still takes nice pics. Mine does not flare easily. Unlike a lot of em. Pros.. Small & lightweight Nice hood Easy to use. Cons... Haze And on film I noticed it is not great resolution in the close up range, at least compared to other lenses. Here is a recent pic..f4 w/SF Filter
  13. Blow the transmission in your manual Mazda Miata MX5..and be prepared for months of waiting and poor service. That said.. The M is a computer..they should be able to farm out the work to Precision or similar. They just dont wanna ...or dont care.. Imagine sitting at a Leica board meeting..and someone brings up the ungodly long repair times.. Just imagine..what is said... or thought...year after year... I think they just say.. Sell cameras... Let em wait.. Make profit.. Time for tea!
  14. LLL has a 50% defect rate when leaving factory. This info comes directly from my dealer. My LLL 50 is perfect. Yours is clearly defective. This is why you buy from a trusted dealer that can test your lens before shipping. It takes about 60 sec to make sure the lens is good to go. I guess LLL doesnt have the time to do this. They are so busy...lol. OK... Never buy from LLL directly as its plainly not a great idea. And... Of course...they are lying to you. I'll nick name them here..just for fun... ..Lens...Lying...Lackeys... That said..I have the 35 8E and the 50 Elcan..and I am perfectly happy w/them. You just have to have them tested first..or be prepared for problems. There are many issues w/this company right from the beginning..just do a search on the Rangefinder forum...there are about 100 pages on a single LLL thread devoted to all this. Promises broken..defective lenses all over the place. Crazy stuff.
