  1. I, too, may be selling off my Leica S gear, so if anyone is interested, please send me a note. Not posted for sale anywhere, but just not shooting it much. Rob
  2. Dennis: I have the S to SL2-S. (It is excellent with the S lenses. Buy the S to SL adapter). Toggle focus, eye autofocus, in body stabilization. It does very well in low light conditions. Good luck. Rob

  4. It was on the return trip from the Staten Island ferry, as we approached NYC. You'll also be able to get some nice shots of the Statue of Liberty. Enjoy your visit. Rob
  5. I really enjoyed seeing your photos! Terrific. Thanks for sharing. Rob
  6. If you can buy a S 007 for $2000, I would not hesitate. S lens prices are so good these days, you can really build an extraordinary set. I'm a casual user and while I don't like the weight, carrying the S 70 on the body all day is manageable. Just came back from Iceland and ended up following that routine. The lightest and smallest lens is the S 70. It is a superb 50mm equivalent and produces gorgeous images, with beautiful colors, depth, tonality and fall off. (That's how I'd start and then decide which other lenses and which other purposes you may want to add lenses for). Rob
  7. Hi Muscardino, I'm not much of a 'birder' so don't know but they certainly do look like the description on line. Breeding colony? Don't know. The rocks/cliff where they were en masse was littered with bird droppings. It was quite a busy grouping with lots of activity. Regards, Rob
  8. Pierre 68: With a sore back! 😀 After carrying 2 lenses along with the S, SL2 S and Q2 for a day, I gave up! Had a large bag on that first day but after that, just carried the S with S70 in a 1 camera/lens bag and left everything else back in my lodging. FWIW, the terrain can be challenging: steep, uneven, sandy, rocky, etc . . . . The weather and wind can also vary along with the temperature. I'm just a hobbyist so opted for the 1 lens/1 body option. Rob
