One of the main virtues of the Lumix Leica DG 200/2.8 is bird portraits. It delivers very well with a lot of Leica pop and lovely background bokeh, imho. This is a nuthatch, taken with the 200/2.8+TC1.4 (280mm) on the Panasonic G9.

Great series. Impressive work. Lovely birds.

No, I sold it a few months ago. Now and then I regret it. I might consider getting the 50-200 at some point so I have a bit more of a range covered and it also takes the TC1.4 and TC2.0 which makes it more versatile.

I was directly under the bird who was about 20 feet off the ground. My experience with the Kestrels on Hampstead Heath in London is that they really don't care about humans. I wonder if this unique to that environment, or whether in general Kestrels are very confident birds.

The new Panasonic Leica Elmarit 200/2.8 is the first lens by Panasonic which I feel really deserves the Leica name. The colour draw and sharpness wide open is outstanding. G90+200/2.8+TC1.4x
