The 180/2 APO-Summicron-R is one of my all time favourite lenses. It is my go to concert lens. Here's a shot of Tim Whitehead, the British Tenor Sax maestro last week taken with the 180/2 on a SL2 with a Novoflex adapter - hand held -
Stuart and Brent, Thank you so much for your comments. It's nice to post again after a while. Sorry about the copyright watermark. Sadly I know of a few photographers, who have had publishers screenshot their images and publish them without payment or credit. Some have successfully obtained payment from publishers. Add onto that the myriad members of the public, who think that it's ok to lift and re-use your images

One of the greatest minds in the world of science has now departed to the universe of stellar bosons - real, but almost intangible. A modest man, who was humbled by the Nobel Prize. Peter Higgs RIP M9 with 35 pre-asph Summilux

My friend Izzey Carts on Friday night - playing with her brother Matthew (lead guitar and Vox) and Will (drums) in their band The Molotovs. Some of my old music business friends think they are one of the best teenage bands in the UK at the moment. M10 50/1.2 Voigtlander

Championship Point - the Winning Moment The winning kick for the World Shin Kicking Championship yesterday evening at Robert Dover's Olympick Games, held since 1612 at Dover's Hill in Chipping Campden. Probably inspired by his student experiences at the Gog Magog Olympiks on Gog Magog Hill in Cambridge, Robert Dover established the Cotswold Olympicks in 1612. After a short breast in the late 18th and early 20th Century, the Games were revived in 1951 and held ever since. The contestants must hold each others shoulders and can only kick between the knee and ankle. The aim is to unbalance the opponent, so that they fall, meaning the winner a point. Throwing your opponent is not allowed. The contest is the best of three points and is adjudicated by the Stickler. Mike, the new World Champion, with his winning kick to become the 2023 World Shin Kicking Champion. S(006) 280/4 APO-R, 1.4x APO Extender with Lei-ko lens adapter ring

Great to catch up with old friends Gregory Porter and Chip Crawford yesterday at the Cheltenham Jazz Festival. Cheltenham is like a second home to Gregory, who first performed here in 2012. Gregory and Chip rehearsing with Lizz Wright before their show, which was recorded by the BBC. M10, 50/1.2 Voigtlander
