  1. I apologize I did not see your first message here that you have already shipped your Leica Q and have gotten an email back. You might want to tell them that Leica New Jersey USA is giving a FREE Goodwill cleaning for first time repair even after the 2-year warranty is done to all Leica Q owners. That is probably something that is not being relayed to them. I hope they would honor that and reconsider their decision to help you fix your Leica Q in your favor. Good luck, Faxao.
  2. When I called Leica New Jersey about the dust or condensation in my EVF, the person I spoke to said that I can send in my Leica Q for a FREE Goodwill cleaning for the first time even after the 2-year warranty was done. Thereafter, a $200-$250 will apply. They sent me a repair form via email to fill out exactly what is wrong with my Q. I am in the process of sending my Leica Q in in about a week or so as I need to use it for a trip. I am hoping that when they replace the EVF, they would replace it with the same one as the Q2 which I believe is sealed being water resistant itself. However, I doubt that. I will just be more careful that I don't expose my Q in damp areas. Have you sent in your Leica Q already? If you haven't, you might want to send it to Leica NJ. I can provide you will all the right info. I just don't know how much the shipping charges would be. They want my Q sent via UPS (Preferable) or Fedex. Please let me know. I apologize I don't have the right email of the person in Wetzlar to address your complaint. Good luck and thanks for your message. Aloha.
  3. Henrik, I’m happy that you received your Q back with a new EVF. Did they replace it with a sealed one like the Q2? I’m just curious. I have the same issue with my Q 116 and I need to send it to Leica NJ I was also told by Leica NJ that they will fix mine FREE of charge as part of their Goodwill program. Im also curious if there is a way to prevent this issue from happening again? Thanks for sharing your story with us. Joey
  4. The camera indeed is a joy to use, but also has things that I consider keep them away from been the perfect machine (this a copy paste from another post I did): · High iso – is not a high iso camera. Actually even the Sony A7ii which was not good, might be better. · Banding – if files are pushed, and only a few steps, banding will appear. I read that this was also a problem with the M, that was solved with a firmware update. I hope the same will happen. It is not a big issue if you don´t tend to over-edit your files, but it does happen. · Auto Exposure Lock – it doesn’t have a well implemented function. If you want to lock exposure you need to leave the button pressed. That means that you cannot use AEL with the Exposure compensation wheel. Ex: Lock exposure, and then use Exposure compensation, since you must leave your finger on the AE button pressed. Horrible design. · I never had overexposure issues with my other cameras, with the Q its been a bit hard to get the exposure right. I tend to overexpose, not sure why. · Camera focuses fast, but only in AFS, AFC is useless. Regarding AFS don’t expect dslr performance. Is really good, but not dslr good. · Buffer is slow, but is not a machine gun camera style. · Video I dont know never use it. · The rx1 has better image quality, but definitely the Q is more fun camera to use. I have a lot of images in my flickr, if interested just pass by and take a look flickr.com/malabito Thank you Neuer for your feedback regarding your issues with the Leica Q. I will take into consideration these issues you mentioned before I buy one. I tried this camera at the Leica Store in LA recently. I hope I could play with it again before I buy one. I will check out your flickr page. Aloha.
  5. You're welcome. I am excited to own a Q someday. What issues are you having with it? I also have the M8.2 which I love even though it is old. I like it's point and shoot capabilities too when it is set from f8 to f16 for hyperfocal distance focusing. Is it worth owning a Q? Heard and read so many good things about it specially the ease of use and auto focusing, video, wifi and macro capabilities. Would appreciate your feedback. Aloha.
  6. Love your images! Fantastic job! Thinking of getting the Leica Q myself as an addition to my M8.2.
