  1. Correct, that is what I mean, that to be fair we should compare at the right aperture for each focal length which as you say goes all the way to f5 for 50mm (I think) and f5.6 for 56mm
  2. Very difficult to use an M with a dog and a kid. I was thinking a lot about the 18mm, I bought it and now I dont regret it. Makes the whole kit small and the quality is good enough.
  3. One last point to make is that when people compare the sigma to the Leica, I am not sure if they compare the Sigma at f2.8 and the Leica at f3.5 for example. I think it will be very difficult to see major differences if you use both at f4 for example, but at f2.8 of course the Sigma will be a bit softer, but then the Leica does not even have f2.8. With respect to the TL2, I think the last firmware update was a long time ago, whereas the CL firmware was updated last year. This is giving you some indication of how much support you should expect for TL2. But, it is a beautiful camera so I hope you enjoy it. Some links that may help https://www.photographyblog.com/reviews/leica_vario_elmar_t_18_56mm_f_3_5_5_6_asph_review/sharpness_1 https://www.photographyblog.com/reviews/sigma_18_50mm_f2_8_dc_dn_review/sharpness_1
  4. I actually re-bought the CL because of the sigma 18-50. I think it is a great lens, especially for the price and the f2.8 gives a better rendering (or look whatever you want to call it) at the long end. 50mm vs 56mm is not a big deal for me, as you can crop a bit and get the same field of view, but you cannot get the same depth of field and look of the f2.8. Also, the price you got for the TL2 is very good, but I personally would not buy a TL2 now, unless you like the design. I had it, sold it and got the CL and I am much happier with its performance and the included EVF.
  5. Snow, moon, we need a bit of sun now (Cl and 23mm)
  6. Yes, it does. Go to Capture Assistants, select a profile and you will find it there.
  7. I did exactly the same, i.e. sold the TL2 and bought the CL. Also, in some of my tests I found the files from TL2 to be less sharp than I expected, maybe I could not hold it steady enough, but I dont have this problem with the CL. I think the CL holds its value much better as well in the second hand market if that is important to you.
  8. Thank you, I appreciate it. I have to say, having posted in other forums here and in other places, that this one is one of the best in terms of the friendly support and encouragement. I will try to post more.
  9. Has anyone considered or tried to use the Sigma FP-L with TL lenses? I know its EVF is a bit awkward but I wonder if it offers an alternative given the megapixels available...
  10. Congratulations, I was actually going to suggest you getting another one as a backup, as I dont see the CL line continuing unfortunately.. From my side, for anyone who is questioning if the camera is worth it these days, I had one of the first CLs in the UK, I sold it because I wanted to try some other cameras, but in the last few months I bought another one again. I am so happy I "rediscovered" this beautiful camera...
  11. Congrats on your new camera, I am sure you will enjoy it. Dont worry about a CL2 appearing soon.. It is an extremely improbable event....
  12. I think he means 1/180 instead of 1/280
  13. I do not think DXO Photolab 5 supports M10-R yet (it does support M10 and M10-P). I think it will be supported later this year, but in general DXO is a bit slow in supporting the Leica cameras.
