  1. I am the owner of the Vi Vante brand and saw the web traffic from this post and thought I'd chime in. I'm an enthusiast and Leica shooter just like you all are. I make products specifically for Leica cameras. When I design my straps I know it's of top priority to my customers that they don't mark up their cameras and hold up. I use thick Nappa leather for the side protection, that is not split seam or pleather. In addition I have developed a quick release system that doesn't look like a ping pong racket with dental floss. It's not currently for sale yet, but will sell it under the stipulation the customer has a half case, that is the only way to protect against rubbing with these. It consists of a Titanium ring for the body and a very special micro clip. This clip goes through the eye of the side protection and clips on to our electroplated key rings on the strap.
  2. I don't buy from pop flash photo but I also love my Artisan and Artist case. It's the best half case they ever made and so reasonable. I gave up on M9 thought. Not paying Arte di Mano prices and can't stand the poor fit of many others out there.
  3. I have shot plenty long exposures at base iso for 125 second duration. Light painted my GT3. =)
  4. Interestingly enough this was not an issue on the S2 but on the S 006 just to clarify.
  5. Yes of course I do from personal experience with M & S equipment. If you would like details pm me and I'd be happy to share.
  6. Yes, these frequently malfunction and need to be replaced. Very disappointing.
  7. On a type 006? The camera is buffering the contents of your memory card. Known firmware flaw. Suggest shooting with smaller cards and replacing more frequently as a work around.
  8. I have a 70CS in for broken autofocus motor now.
  9. The focus motors on S lenses break, they all do. Then it takes months to get them back. Leica will of course blame you for them breaking.
  10. The M60 comes with a case and strap. I also put a thumbs up on. You think you're ripping me? I'm the one with all the toys. Yes I can focus a noctilux faster then someone pressing the live view button, the magnifier coming on and slowly focusing until the peaking comes on by bracketing. What don't you get about that? It will be another 6 months before I come back to this forum.
  11. The guys like me that have a M60 also have a M240, keep the 35 lux on the M60 and Noctilux on the M240. Using 2 bodies is faster, less risk of a lens drop in the field, and no sensor dust. If I were to put the Noctilux on the M60, I would no fear of non sharp photos because I know how to focus bracket. The buffer is the same as the Mp so I can let it rip faster then most toying with their evf and live view. Lets put it to rest. I don't think any M60 owners will be selling their 35 Luxs ;-)
  12. The price is in line with other bodies, don't forget it includes a limited edition numbered stainless steal 35 Summilux. Special edition lenses go up in value and I'm quite sure the kit will retain its value well beyond any other digital Leica camera to date.
  13. Yes, it comes with white gloves and they will be staying in my box while I use the hell out of my M60 =) The M60 edition is a joy to use and quite liberating not chimping after every few shots. Leica store Miami procured me one and I'm grateful to be shooting with this magnificent stainless steel beast. The shutter sound is really seductive as well, and how it resonates in that Stainless body with out all of the electronics. I realize the camera is overlooked because of the price, however if you saw the lens in person which is numbered btw and held the body if you were in the position to buy one you wouldn't feel this way. You would want one yesterday. I keep my 50mm on my M240 and 35 on the M60. I don't like changing lenses when I'm out shooting. I noticed a comment about the "movie" button from the M240 on the M60, it is to set the time and date.
  14. I use one all the time. Takes the guess work out of difficult shooting scenarios. For a lot of M stuff I use the Gossen. When I'm using strobes or flash I have the sekonic touch screen as was recommended above. Its a great thing to have in your camera bag.
