  1. Hi again and thanks for the fulfilling… and very nice feedback! Everything seems to be in place for a succesful development! regards
  2. I had to give an additional comment to this picture… and that is ¨JUST BRILLIANT¨! Thanks!
  3. I got this hunch as well and checked; the Ducati «selfportrait» was shot at 2.8… 😉
  4. Some pictures (see following posts) that might demonstrate this lens' behaviour fully open. Love this lens. Not ¨very sharp¨ fully open, but with a very pleasant softness (some glow maybe?) in my opinion (see cropped sticker on car). And quickly becomes truly sharp when stopped down. However, this lens never becomes ¨clinical¨ in my mind. As said; just love it! All with M10
  5. I first tried the 28 Elmarit asph v1. Too harsh, so sold it. Bought the Elmarit v3… lovely, but also very «classical»… so sold this one as well. Have now ended up with the Elmarit v4 which I find to be exactly right for me. Just the right balance of everything… Ergonomics are obviously very different for all three which could play an important role for some. To me they are all in the «very handy» league
  6. This particular picture of the 35 cron v4 in pieces seems to have been «recycled» over and over. Yes, it is obviously so that earlier non-german version did have some plastic parts. However, the frequent exposure of this particular picture of this single example of plastic parts causing severe problems… and few or no others… makes be truly curious about the true magnitude of this claimed to be, substantial problem…
  7. I see now that my assumption was right… photo really not showing much… except for some «glow» maybe. But anyway 😉
  8. The resolution available to me for uploading is most probable not sufficient. But I find that this photo (the photo in itself being totaly meaningless ;-)) printed on my Epson P800 in A3+ format show some of the very nice drawings/properties that this V4 provides. Shot fully open and only adjustments of contrast and blacks in LR.
  9. My first M was an M6 in silver. I was never even close to be doubtful of my choice. And in the continuation I have also managed to keep 6 of my current set of 12 Leica lenses in silver. So the disappointment was big when the first full frame Leica M, the M9, was announced not to be offered in silver chrome, but with this grey`ish lacker. It was even stated that silver chrome Ms would never again be produced! WHAT? Really? Leica M = chrome! So being a chrome guy with at bunch of silver lensen (to me silver lenses on black bodies just do not work) only choice was to go for the grey lackered M9 since no future silver M was to be expected... 😆 Today I am very happy with my silver M10... but I did feel somewhat cheated when the M9P turned up in silver rather soon after the M9.
  10. Shouten-select have a regular black Leitz Summicron 50mm 3rd (11817) mint- inkl hood 12585 for euro 1350,-. Produced in 1973. Not what you are wishing for, but still… 😉
  11. So 😉… you personally do prefer older stuff from days of perfect finish & QC, while you firmly recommend the OP just to limit his expectations to newly bought stuff. Both obviously valid standpoints separately… but combined in ONE logic I get confused ☺️ I would have returned this body immediately. I find the M-A body to be probably the most beautiful M-body ever made. Almost a symbol of all Leica virtues… produced today 💪. So when buying one new EVERYTHING shall obviously be 100% and that magic moment when opening the box should not be scrutinized by sloppy finish (and a feeling that the body have been out of the box for more than some minutes?) Maybe sentimental or snobbish… but really, Leica do live well by also providing that feeling. PS: that said I fully agree that those older M-2-3-4 bodies are just delightful. My somewhat newer late ninities M6 do not give the same feeling of clockwork smoothness 👍 regards,
  12. Sure… request forwarded. Just somewhat impatient 😉 Thanks!
