  1. Hello, I have this lens LEICA SUMMILUX-M 50 mm f/1.4 ASPH black chrome,11688 which has this hook https://leicastoremiami.com/collections/lens-caps-hoods-for-m/products/leica-lens-hood-for-50mm-f-1-4-summilux-black-chrome-11688?variant=26725105424 I want to have this hook permanently attached to it. If I want to attach the supplied cap, to protect the lens I first have to remove the hook from the lens, attach it in reverse, and then put on the cap. Is there a cap that fits the larger diameter of the hook?⬤
  2. Any information or assumption if 50mm Summilux M lens will be announced later? https://leicarumors.com/2022/04/28/new-leica-35mm-and-50mm-summilux-m-lenses-rumored-to-be-announced-later-this-year.aspx/#ixzz7eqvJuLJm
  3. Of course, sharpness is not what defines a good photo 🙂 @lct thanks for the information on Elmar-M
  4. Bingo. I didn't know that. Perhaps the lens was not locked when I started focusing. Nevertheless, the images I took by this Elmar-M were pretty sharp, sharper than Cron 50. But it might be possible that Cron can suffer from a focus shift. I just played a bit with Elmar-M and you can lock the tube in two positions, one position when the aperture scale is on the top and the second position with the scale is down. This was confusing to me. is it normal, or it shouldn't happen? >>> You mean you focused at f/2.8 with the EVF et you did not refocus anymore? No, I did not refocus, with focus peaking, the camera outlined high-contrast edges of the books, so no need to refocus.
  5. yes, also I had to magnify (manually) to see if it is in focus
  6. It might be a silly question, but what is the reason to rotate a front ring on the lens (marked in red)? To start focusing, I have to extend the tube. Then rotating the focus ring, the tube automatically collapses or extends. The aperture ring is evident. But the front ring?
  7. Yes, sure :-), 2.8 ; 4.0; 5.6 on both lenses. I put the numbers at the top of the pictures.
  8. Having a chance to compare this Elmar-M 50/2.8 with Summicron M 50/2 (serial numb. 47xx), I am surprised that Elmar.M is sharper than Cron. It was just a quick test from a tripod.
  9. So once it is mounted I can collapse it without any worries. Right?
  10. I just read that the tube of Elmar-M 2.8/50 (last version), when retracted, has 20.5mm. Quite a lot. For instance 2/50mm Summicron (screw-mount) has less than 14mm when it is collapsed. I will definitely ask Leica support to be sure.
  11. As one member mentioned, the best way would be to contact either a Leica Store dealer or Leica Customer Care and ask them directly.
  12. Is it safe to use this collapsible lens with M11 ? I am offered it for 900$.
  13. Hello, I have a specific question, are there any old lenses with non-removable goggles? I have M11 and want to try some old lenses, for instance, Leica Summaron 35. I can find some lenses on the Internet, but the information on whether goggles are removable is missing. For example, the lens with removable https://www.leicashop.com/classic/at/en/lcc/Leica-Summaron-SOONC-M-3-5-35mm-M3/32041-2 and here, without mentioning : https://www.leicashop.com/classic/at/en/lcc/Leica-Summicron-Close-Focus-11918-2-50mm/33631-3 The second question, is it a good idea to try(buy) such lenses for M11 ? Many thanks for the information.
  14. Dear, I just wanted to ask you. I am trying to test CL with an uncoded Elmarit-M 28mm f/2,8 lens 11804 V3. I can select the right lens 11804 from the menu, but as the aperture is not transferred to the camera due to an uncoded lens, I don't know should I set the camera to get the correct exposure. Thank you
