  1. In our back garden - this is a little monster we take care of a month or more each year when her mother is away. Leica M9, Noctilux 50mm f/1.0
  2. Great idea for a thread. I've looked through my images and find most of the ones at home are when we have visitors. I have more interesting photos while visiting other people's homes. Here's one taken at our place of one of my wife's flower arrangements (she's a florist). M9, Voigtlander 75mm
  3. I've not been to those altitudes, but I'll add my comments since it sounds like such an interesting trip and you already have a lot of experience. I have been North of the Arctic Circle in winter at -40 C, but we had dogs for the longer trip. Given what you've said, I'd bring the M10 and a 35mm lens or the 28mm if that's what you've got. Changing lenses can require glove changes and if you have the luxury of a warm resting place, there's a huge risk of condensation which will then turn into ice instantly when going back out. Eye lashes can also get covered in ice if you breath while exiting from a warm place. Your temperatures may not be so extreme, but it is something to keep in mind. I thought the blurry shot from a compact was one of the more memorable ones. Like another posted said, it depends on what you want from your pictures. You'll have great memories no matter what.
  4. Thank you, Pete for setting this up. I'll be there! Ritsuko probably has to work that day, otherwise, she'd consider joining.
  5. Unfortunately, Ritsuko and I won't be at this year's Leica One Challenge. While a large part of this has to due with reduced income this year, I've also been accepted into a course for a few months with important deadlines in October. I shall miss Leica Forum friends while thinking of you during the Challenge weekend.
  6. Hello Leica Forum friends, I am having a small exhibition for the entire month of February. On Friday the 17th, there will be a party from 6pm until 9pm which you would be very welcome to attend. It might be a bit crowded though. On the 25th from 3pm-5pm, I will also be there along with Ian Greaves where I could probably spend more time with you. There are some good cafes near by and a lovely square to take pictures in if you end up being early. All of my images were taken with Leica equipment (mostly an M9 & an M10). It would be lovely to see you at either of these. If you'd like to know more of the context about the exhibition or comment, you can find the backstory here: https://www.macfilos.com/2023/02/06/something-between-us-the-story-behind-dan-bachmanns-2023-london-exhibition/ Feel free to drop in even if I'm not there. The Camera Club is located at 16 Bowden Street, London, SE11 4DS nearest Underground station: Kennington The gallery is generally open for visitors 11am-10pm weekdays and 10am to 6pm on weekends (except the afternoon of 18 Feb).
  7. Masks & mahabis slippers Leica M10, 35mm Voigtlander LTM
  8. Thank you for the examples and reviews in these posts. I was considering this lens to replace a Noctilux f/1.0 and Summilux pre-asph. There's no issues with those lenses, just looking for a new toy/a change of pace. I think I would miss the vignetting and curve in the bokeh of the old Noctilux - it is imperfect in a beautiful way. It is so different, that if I had this lens, I would have to keep the other ones. Voigtalnder came out with some other fast 50mm lenses about the same time... I wonder how they look.
  9. Moustache (monochrome) Leica M10, 75mm Voigtlander LTM
  10. I agree - hats off to Andy & Ravi for the organisation. And congratulations to Mike & Ravi as well. I love the night challenge as it brings out more of our eccentricity and sense of adventure!
  11. Thank you to everyone who came out to play whether that was in Athens or your commentary online. So many familiar faces, fond memories of those who could not make it and some new people. Congratulations to Christoph - I am sure your entire roll of film would has other impressive shots and also to Andy delivered something that resonated with us. See you in Dubrovnik next year - perhaps sooner if there is a UK gathering. @erlI miss your presence very much.
