  1. So one would be better off being a non-member than a member when it comes to registration... Whatever. As much as I would like to go I doubt that I'll be able to. One of these days I'll get to NO...
  2. I have to admit I'm a little surprised that the price for members and non-members is the same.
  3. I think it would take more than a firmware upgrade, at least for an M8/M9, as the hotshoe footprint is different. I can't speak to the M...
  4. I removed the Franiec grip from my D-Lux 4 and found that it fits on the D-Lux Type 109. It may be a little too tall for the 109 as the height of the grip extends above what appears to be the assembly line for the top of the camera, and I don't know if that would cause any problems for service or not. I'm not sure I like it on the 109, but I'll give it a few days to see if it grows on me.
  5. I finally had a chance to go out and use my D-Lux for any length of time earlier today. I absolutely love it! But I'm going to have to re-learn my P&S photography, as with the large sensor and fast lens some areas that are usually in focus with a P&S weren't. I think I can deal with that!
  6. You've already mentioned the biggest differences between the two. I'll add that there's the red dot, and that the D-Lux is made in Japan and not in China like the LX100. I went with the D-Lux as a gift to myself and I love it! For me it was worth the extra bucks. Although there's been some discussion about differences in images, I don't think anyone has been able to conclusively state that images from one camera are better than the other.
  7. Is that the Leica grip? If so, does it permit access to the battery / SD compartment without removal? I doubt it does, but thought I'd ask anyway...
  8. Without a built-in viewfinder of some type I don't see how the XV will offer the same use experience. At least, I know it wouldn't for me.
  9. No problem. I still have all of the IR-cut filters I still use on my M8.2...
  10. My guess would be to pass a power cord through in case one wanted to run the camera from an adapter rather than a battery.
  11. Just received my D-Lux and the diopter adjust works fine. Try running the adjustment wheel to the stops at both ends a couple of times and see if that helps (it was a suggestion in another thread regarding the Panny cousin).
  12. I'm still waiting to hear if the replacement sensors have the same problem.
  13. The plug portion slides off - it doesn't pull directly off of the rest of the plug's body. Fold the two prongs into the body of the charger, then push the smaller portion off of the body in the direction of the folded prongs. This is the same process used for the power adapters for MacBooks, etc.
  14. What a really cool trick! I love it! Thanks!!
  15. I guess I'm surprised Leica isn't sending you a correct diopter. It's their product, not B&H's.
