Well, for one there is a significant different tone in the pictures. The CL + 35/1.4 is about the same price as the Sony A7RM3 + 55/1.8. If you like the Leica pictures better, then there isn't anything else to say. Technically, I don't think they are... but what does that matter anyway?

Well, the A7RIII and the Nikon D850 as of today are leading edge when it comes to the sensor. Whether you prefer APS-C or full frame, I believe, is largely a matter of taste. I'd probably be happy with either, but since my focal length preference is the range between 20mm and 85mm, full frame suits me well. The Leica SL still has the largest resolution viewfinder at 4.4, followed by the A7RIII (A7RM3) and the rest including the CL and the original Sony A7. Manual focus on the A7RIII is a much more enjoyable experience and I can only guess that it gets better with higher resolution, i.e. the Leica SL

Honestly, the Sony A7RIII full frame 42MP Exmor R sensor runs circles around the CL sensor or the SL sensor. There is just no competition. However, this is only one (important) part of the equation. If you add a lens and your particular requirements in a particular situation, the results may not reflect the above statement. I think, this is what it comes down to.

Für mich lautet die Antwort nach 2 Wochen der Evaluierung: nein Meine Einstiegsdroge war damals die X1 (bei Erscheinung), die mich relativ schnell zur M8.2 brachte. Im Lauf der Jahre waren dann X2, X-Vario, T, Q und D-Lux 109 bei mir - inkl. zahlreicher Objektive. Ich wußte schon, was ich an den Leicas hatte. Ich bin auch einer der wenigen, die bis heute die X Vario als Meisterstück von Karbe schätzt. So wunderschön das Objektiv auch zeichnet, so sehr ist der Rest aus heutiger Sicht zum Kübeln. Die CL hat mich eigentlich sehr angesprochen, aber die Zeiten der reinen Emotionsentscheidungen sind dank zweier kleiner (heiß geliebter) Kinder jetzt vorbei. Es macht rein von den Fakten her keinen Sinn, weil man für deutlich weniger Geld inzwischen deutlicher mehr Leistung bekommt und diese Schere tendenziell auseinandergeht. Wer Wert auf Tradition und große Namen legt, wird inzwischen auch jenseits von Leica fündig (Zeiss). Daher führt mich mein Weg in Zukunft wieder zum Vollformat bei einem Hersteller, der zwar nicht viel billiger ist, dafür aber auch dem Premiumanspruch gerecht wird. Es war sehr schön, es hat mich sehr gefreut - sage schon ein alter österr. Kaiser. Ich wünsche allen noch viel Spaß und ich wünsche Leica aus vollstem Herzen, daß sie ihre optische Exzellenz nicht aufgeben und bald auch wieder eine technische Exzellenz erreichen.

Yes, I agree. To achieve 35mm eqfl you would need something around 23 on the X-Pro2 and this already dipping into border-desaster-land. Plus, Fuji actually has a fairly decent 23/1.4. There is no point in using an M lens on the X-Pro2 unless you just happen to have one sitting around at home. I certainly wouldn‘t buy one for the Fuji. I have shot Fuji since the x100 (the first model uses a Bayer sensor), going through all iterations of X-Trans including the latest 24MP model. I have also been with an M8.2, all the X models, the T and the Q. Currently, I use an X-T1 (I think that things didn‘t only get better during the transition from one X-trans to the next generation) and no Leica. I am about to abandon Fuji because processing X-trans really annoys me. I am looking at the CL, but I am not 100% convinced. I am also looking at the Sony A7RM3, which just seems to be the ultimate camera right now. On my rather slow Lightroom station, processing the 42MP Sony files is faster than processing the 24MP X-trans files. On a fast machine the difference is there, but since everything is faster, you would probably not notice it.

In terms of image quality, the Fuji X-Pro1 was ok with midrange M lenses (say, 35mm an above) and useless with almost all wide angles. This, in my personal experience, has not changed with the X-Pro2. However, in terms of handling, the X-Pro2 easily wins when simply comparing the features. If you use the Fuji adapter, you will be able to select the M lens (the Fuji adapter is electronic and has a button). This will then apply image corrections including CA, shading and perspective - the values are pre programmed. The CL's only advantage would be the 6Bit decoding (so, no need to actually select the lens used) and of course anything Leica has done to the sensor to compensate for weak borders. The X-Pro2 has a hybrid finder which allows you to use the M lens in an optical, range finder style viewfinder with a fairly accurate LED frame and two zoom levels to adjust for shorter or longer lenses. The lower right corner can show a digital image (EVF embedded in an OVF), allowing you to focus in a zoomed view while seeing the entire frame in the optical viewfinder. Bottom line: if you only use a Summilux-; 50, then I a can imagine you being happier with the X-Pro2 than the CL.

Andererseits wurde auf den einschlägigen Seiten schon letztes Jahr recht konkret über eine LX200 spekuliert und die GX850 ist als Einsteigsmodell in die MFT Wechselobjektivserie das, was früher durch diverse GF Modelle abgedeckt wurde: MFT, Wechselobjektiv, kein Sucher aber niedriger positioniert als GM Von einem MFT System ist bei Leica nicht auszugehen - wozu auch. Das Experiment hat man schon hinter sich (Digilux 3). Mich wundert ja eher, daß man sich die T/TL noch antut...

LR is simply bundled with the product and Leica cooperates with Adobe in a way that everybody else does. This allow Adobe to officially support a camera (which more or less is creating a color profile for it as Leica uses the DNG format). The lens corrections are part of the DNG file and the DNG file was created by Adobe. Leica simply makes use of this feature. Until today, Adobe applies the corrections automatically and does not allow switching it off. This is an Adobe decision, not a Leica decision. In the past, you'd not even know. Today, Lightroom shows a tiny messages that tells you that corrections have been applied. If you want an additional checkbox in Adobe Lightroom, it would be more efficient talking to the makers of Lightroom.
