  1. We once had a thread somewhere here in the forum where we did the same. (Maybe in the German forum.) Was great ๐Ÿ™‚ - TK.
  2. For me charging while driving my car made the huge difference compared to the Q/Q2. I plug it into USB-C from my MB V-Class and it charges as it should be ๐Ÿ™‚ So when on a trip I stopped thinking about the Q3-battery. It is always full... Best wishes TK
  3. I often use eye detection, sometimes the camera does not go into eco mode for long period of time, probably because of the touch screen "touched" when walking around with the camera in my hand. My impression this then costs a lot of battery. My general impression, battery usage was remarkably better with the Q2 but I still dare to go out with the Q3 without a spare battery. ๐Ÿ™‚ With the very first Q I remember this was a no-go... Best wishes TK
  4. My experience, for familiy photos the eye focus of the Q3 is a huge step forward compared to Q/Q2. But yes, smaller is better in your setting ๐Ÿ˜‰ -TK
  5. Copy that! Immediatly to Spot AF by pressing a singe button. That would be really great. But anyway eye-af with the q3 is a real game changer for me... TK
  6. Last year's summer GAS hit me hard and when consciousness came back there was this Anti-Q in my hands. I do not have any SLR history, I came from Leica DLux-3, X1 (loved it), X2, X116, Q and Q2. The goal was to supplement my loved Q and not to cannibalize it. After one year good news, it worked! Q2 | Anti-Q Weight: 718g | 1992g Length: 9cm | 43cm Aperture: 1.7 | 11 (fixed!) Min Dist: 30cm | 600cm Purpose: Family | Nature, mainly birds Love: intense | Workhorse 11 as fixed aperture sounds like a joke but in practice the high ISO values of the R5 allow to partly compensate this. Bokeh needs to be discussed separately. At the same time for 800mm the setup is really lightweight. In former times I made several attempts with my Zeiss Diascope telescope and the Q for digiscoping, but the RF800mm is magnitudes better concerning picture quality and handling (of course not a surprise). Whereas the pictures from the Q still knock me out some features of the Canon are also amazing, above all the autofocus, autofocus modes, overall speed of the camera, and GPS-logging that you do not need to think about it simply works. I had to send this out to the forum. I could not resist. Sorry if it is bothering you. But would make me happy if it puts a smile on your face... ๐Ÿ™‚ Best wishes TK
  7. I do not think so. In the Leica App you get a live view but I cannot imagine it is possible to forward this stream. In addition I do not think Leica opened their API to allow third parties to implement software for the Q. Does anybody know any software that can directly access the Q? Anyway I would be very interested in using the Q via an API. I can control my Gopro via Python and that is a pleasure. My 2 ct tk
  8. Wow! you changed my life!! ๐Ÿ™‚ For the double click to recenter the focus I always had to move the camera away far from my eye (to switch off the evf). Absolutely annoying... tnx tk
  9. Some time ago I had a try with a Zร–RK Macroscope Typ 1 (MCS/1), http://www.zoerk.de/nv06-mac.html. Freehand ooc-jpeg at minimal focus distance, unfortunately I do not remember this distance. Aperture is 2.8. Each box in the picture is about 0.5cm. The Zรถrk comes with a dipoter of 12, the Leica Elpro 52 probably(?) with a diopter of 5. What does this imply? I must admit I do get the physics behind... From your pictures I learned vignetting is there but not not as strong as with my Zรถrk. Moreover distortion is probably also better with the Elpro. I was rather disappointed those days and never screwed it on again ๐Ÿ™‚ - tk
  10. Still hard for me to find out about the practical relevance of such a closeup filter for me. Half the focus distance is giving me two times of picture resolution? Is this worth the effort (not thinking about money but being out in the field, screwing down the lens hood, screwing down my normal filter and screwing up the elpro ๐Ÿ™‚ ) On the Leicapages I did not find a hint on the diopter of the Elpro 52. Anyway I found this interesting page http://fuzzcraft.com/achromats.html tnx tk
  11. I am confused, with macro it should be less? Anyway in cm focus distance gets down from 17cm to 5cm. And no vignetting at all? You did not crop e.g. the foto with the nice tooth brush? I am impressed. Have a good trip back! tk
  12. >You may download another raw capable software >like the free GIMP to see if the same happens Has anyone got satisfying results from open source software? I remember correcting lens distortion is possible but I never came to satisfying colors. What about sharing a suitable color profile? Could the one from adobe be exported and used with gimp/darktable or whatever open source software? - tk
  13. Bericht รผber Tschechien... -tk
  14. would absolutely make sense. Especially if you want to sync with gps tracks recorded in utc too. But then of course you want the Foto app to leave the time stamp untouched... tnx tk
