  1. I use it with the HC 300/4.5 for wildlife photography. It works fine, AF is spot on, but not fast.
  2. I recently bought one (used) from a dealer in Belgium. Best addition to my S (007) ever.
  3. Had it in a bag with desiccant bags for a week and then it occured to me that it shows the "scuba" logo on the display, which means it was set for underwater (UW) lighting. I went outside and did different test shots of three scenes: all with one picture taken in "UW" mode and one in regular mode. That seems to have solved the mystery: UW lighting yields in chromatic aberrations when not "unterwasser".
  4. I do actually: thanks for the suggestion!
  5. In theory that is possible, although I could not see any. I can try and place the camera in a very dry space with the card/battery door open for a while.
  6. I mainly use my X-U for underwater photography. Yesteday it was quite a rainy day, so took it outsise for regular photography. There also were some sunny spells in between, so light was fantastic. Afterwards I processed everything in Lightroom as I always do, but the images were not as sharp as expected and had lots of chromatic abberations. Is this due to the fact that Lightroom is not the best tool for this camera, or does the camera need maintenance?
  7. Agreed. The HC 300/4.5 feels very much at home on the S. Although heavy, it feels well balanced and the AF works quite good. I do not use it as often as the 70 or the 35, but it is a great addition if you need that length. And if I am not mistaken, you could even add a Hasselblad H 1.7x teleconverter (but you'd probably lose your AF).
  8. Just stick in a CF card and an SD card, using the CF as a backup. After each successful download of the images to your computer with the SD card, you can format both again.
  9. I use the black Leica "Billingham" Bag that was originally designed for the M. Your S body with lens will fit snugly and the front pocket has room enough for a spare battery, cable or even a small foldable tripod.
  10. I think you are not mad at all. I came from an M system (M9, then M typ something), but since I wanted autofocus for my subjects, I tried both Canon 1d and Sony/Hasselblad HV. I hated the Canon (solid body but lenses like toys), loved the Zeiss lenses on the flimsy built HV so ended up buying an S006. I replaced it last year with a new S007 and it is the bomb.
  11. Hi Stuart, great advise: much appreciated. It also tells me why the wider 35mm appears to have more difficulties focusing compared to the 70. The headlamp sounds like a plan and I will also invest in a split-prism focusing screen for the situation I need to manual focus.
  12. Until recently, I only had the Summarit 70mm lens (and a 300mm Hassy, but I only use that in daylight). Last week I purchased a Summarit 35mm and I tried some test shots in low light. I am under the impression that with this lens mounted, the camera has more difficulties to focus compared to the 70mm. The lens keeps buzzing, focussing fore and aft. Is it me, or is there a method to be able to focus more quick and accurate in low-light conditions?
  13. Coming from an S006, I currently use an S007 with a Summarit-S 70mm and a Hasselblad HC 300mm. Today I added the 35mm (28mm eq) Summarit-S to my setup. I had my doubts about the purchase, because I also us a 28mm Q (typ116). The stunning results I have had with the 70 and 300mm however, made me buy the 35mm as well, so can't wait to give it a go.
