  1. If your in London go to Leica Mayfair and they will fix it in a couple of days. at least they did when I had the Q2
  2. Indeed I wish the Batis was a bit thinner!! For work I started switching to the Sony system with the release of the A7 and with the release of the A7r3 completed the change only keeping a Q and then a Q2
  3. I'm afraid not. I tried one out a bit at Leica Mayfair and have to say I didn't think it really worth the upgrade at £5300. The other day I got a good deal on a Zeiss Batis 25mm (hardly wider than the 28mm Q lens) and on my Sony A1 it's not that much bigger or heavier than the Q and knocks it out of the park performance wise. Consequently the Q2 and my ageing Sony A7r3 are going to be traded in for a Sony A7r5
  4. Here are the last 2 images I took with my Q2 before it gets traded in tomorrow. Maybe I'll be back in the Leica fold one day again in the future who knows.

  6. In a way I'm sure I will. I sold my original Q and after a couple of years gave in and bought the Q2 but as much as I like it it can be so frustrating on certain levels especially when it comes to AF compared to the Sony's. The Batis 25 is ever so slightly wider than the Q series 28mm lens but it really is a great performer. I'm always trying to simplify my system and I think the A7r5 along with the A1 will more than meet my needs. In my Leica M days I basically worked with 2 bodies and a 50mm and 28mm lens but now it will be the Batis 25 on one and 50/1.4GM on the other body for casual shooting
  7. All I'm afraid it's going to be bye-bye Leica once again for me as after picking up a used Zeiss Batis 25mm/f2 lens yesterday and using it on the the Sony A1 I will be trading my Q2 Monday for the Sony A7r5. I like the idea of the small size the A7Cr but it really is just too handicapped in comparison to the A7r5 (low quality EVF, flippy out screen and lack of customisable buttons) which is really not that much bigger. As ever I will miss the simplicity of the the Q2 and the Q3 is so expensive and really not that much of an improvement
  8. Had a dust particle in the viewfinder of my Q2 and I took it into Leica Mayfair in London and got it back cleaned 2 days later. Probably the only benefit of Brexit in that leica UK do repairs of the the q series cameras in house so they don't have to send the camera back to Germany which now takes around 3 months because of customer paperwork!!
  9. If out and about or just on short travels with the Q I will always have my tiny Sony RX100vii in my trouser or jacket pocket with it's 24-200 equivalent lens to capture anything where I need more reach
  10. I was in the London Camera Exchange (LCE) today in London where I know the staff quite well and was told that the company has never had so many pre-orders as it has had for the Q3 across all it's stores and that is with people putting down quite a hefty deposit
  11. Thanks and I do this already when needed but it would be nice to be able to adjust the threshold
  12. This was also my finding when I tried out the Q3, it is better than the Q2 but I was surprised to see it still pulsing a little which I thought odd seeing it has hybrid AF. I wasn't expecting it to be up with my Sony A1 but maybe firmware upgrades may help over time.
  13. good review and I agree about the OIS in auto being set to turn on at less than 1/60sec as it really needs to be higher as you suggest. I wonder if it is the same in the Q3 with it's higher resolution sensor
  14. In fact I said I don't expect the Q3 to focus like the A1 and now for the type of camera that the Q series is I find focussing on the Q2 on the whole to be good enough. In fact it's continuous lock on AF is not so bad if you can live with the pulsing in and out of the contrast detect system. I was though slightly surprised to see a little of this behaviour still when I tried out the Q3 which has a hybrid pixel/contrast detect system.
