The real news about the Leica Sofort! [merged thread]
Lucklik replied to jaapv's topic in Leica News
I know it is not allowed to post picture not made with a Leica lens or a Leica camera, but I hoped this is allowed. As stated before I own a Fuji mini 7s and recently a mini 90, both suffer from a severe viewfinder parallax. (if Leica has solved this I'll buy 'sofort' one) Take a look at the picture the lines show what is shown in the viewfinder. All M owners knows that what the viewfinder shows is not exactly what is on the picture, but I have never had any problem because the difference is small. But here you really have to anticipate. The picture is taking at 4 meter Camera set to 3 m – infinity (far range) Exposure compensation + 0.7EV -

From the Leica representative at Phtokina I understood (between the lines) that only the outside was Leica. It seems to make a difference who you talk to. -

I'm not sure it are line-pairs, the spec sheet talks about lines not line pairs -

According to Fuji the Instax film has a resolving power of 12 lines/mm. https://www.fujifilm.eu/fileadmin/product_migration/generic/files/files/instax_mini_datasheet_14.pdf Not really high specs for a lens. I'm sure the lenses are the same. As a Instax 7s owner I wanted a better camera. I like both Fuji and Leica and apart from the look they are almost the same. I hesitated between the two and finally went for the Fuji because he has two shutter buttons and the Leica has only one shutterbutton. grt Luc -
A Word About Plustek - Follow-Up To 35mm Film Scanners Revisited
Lucklik replied to S.Rolf's topic in Film Forum
I don't like the Silverfast interface. I prefer Vuescan. I used it on my Coolscan and later on my Plustek. I can work much faster with Vuescan. Speed makes a difference when one has to scan 100 to 150 images. (or 10000 transparencies) -
I don't bond easy to a camera. But the A7 is on his way to take a place. But falling in love is a very personal matter. I'm glad I didn't bought an M (it wasn't available anyway) with the A7 I can use my M lenses AND AF lenses. I used the camera twice in real life reportages and the camera delivers what I need.

Yes I did. I also taped the LEICA logo and Red Dot on my M6TTL too and there is no Leica logo or Red Dot on my a la carte M7. I have my A7 for a week and I like it very much. For me the A7 has a 'Leica' feel. Two lenses I hardly used on my analog M's were the 90 Elmarit and 28-35-50 MATE, I use them now on the A7. I found out that when I put the MATE between 28 and 50mm I can focus much closer. The picture I show is from a press-conference 90 Elmarit F:2.8 ISO 400 1/125

My A7 is delivered, unpacked and charging. The A7 is a lighter then the M7 but not too light. The camera looks and feels better then I expected. However .... It takes 310 minutes to charge the batteries so I'm waiting .... waiting ....

I've done this years ago with similar pictures at the same spot with my Ricoh GR1 and M6 with asph 35cron. Nobody could tel on 30x40cm photos which picture was taken with which camera/lens. I could see the difference but my audience who called themselves specialist could not.

Has anyone used a MATE 28-35-50 on a A7®?

I wonder if 36mp make sense on a handheld camera. From my point of view 24mp, without image stabilization is more then enough.

Compare the DLux 6 with the Vario X DLux 6 lens is 2 stops wider Angle 24-90 compared to 28-70 Image stabilisation (works very wel on my Dlux5 at least 2-3 stops) When you count 2 stops for IS and 2 stops for the aperture you can shoot the DLux 6 at 100 ISO White you would need 1600 on the Vario for the same image.

@ Wilfredo, I had not looked at it that way. I'll shoot some pics side by side with D1 and Dlux4 and see how they differ. (Apart from the number of pixels)

@iedei don't pay to much 4 a Digilux 1 you may be disapointed. :-) Tnx for the remarks on the pictures
