  1. My scanner has an old firewire connection. I had been using it successfully on the iMac with a 6 pin to 9 pin firewire cable and an Apple 9 pin firewire cable to thunderbolt 2 dongle adapter. When I upgraded to MacStudio, there was no thunderbolt 2 port, so I bought what I thought was an additional thunderbolt 2 to 3 dongle adapter on Amazon. In retrospect, the last adapter was probably just a thunderbolt 2 to usb-3 adapter which plugs into the MacStudio ok. I fear this last adapter zapped some chip on the scanner. I have since found out that Apple may have a better adapter for thunderbolt 2 to 3.
  2. Andy, thanks for the info. I sent an email to lincolnscan. I think I may have messed it up myself when I upgraded my iMac to MacStudio. The former had a thunderbolt 2 connection, but the latter has no such port; needs thunderbolt 3. I got an adapter, but it could have caused the problem. I still have the iMac, but the scanner doesn't work anymore even with the original thunderbolt 2 cable and connection to the iMac. I hope lincolnscan can help somehow.
  3. Andy, I realize this is a very old topic, but I just experienced a blinking failure with my Coolscan 9000. I wonder what was the final resolution to your scanner failure problem? Thanks
  4. Shot #15 = 3 Points. Shot #13 = 2 Points. Shot #6 = 1 Point.
  5. Ravi, I understood your tongue in cheek post and got a chuckle out of it. My reply was also meant to be tongue in cheek, so I hope you got a chuckle in reply. So I apologize if you perceived it otherwise. (egad, does the z give me away?)
  6. I'm curious why this was mentioned in an advice post. Are they dangerous? Is there any cause to worry about them being there in large numbers?
  7. Looking forward to members' images. Athens was my backyard for many years. I posted some old shots in hopes of stimulating ideas among this years' members: Athens Street Shots
  8. For those arriving early who would like to socialize with other members, is there a handy informal meeting spot where we might get together for evening drinks? Perhaps the Saturday 1300 venue or nearby? Anyone have hotel suggestions for the Monastiraki area?
  9. Andy, you have me down for #5; should be #4: "4 for me and 6 for Anastasia." from my post.
  10. 4 for me and 6 for Anastasia. Apologize for delay and thanks for all you're doing.
  11. Please add Mike and Anastasia for lunch and dinner.
  12. Thanks, Pete. Actually last time for a personal get-together was Venice 2010. And I participated in the 2020 in-place challenge. Anastasia and I did a lot of cruising in the intervening years; the schedules conflicted. Add an occasional health problem plus the COVID-19 pandemic in recent years, and this year becomes the fist chance in over a decade that we could get together personally. If you or anyone else can explain why the years are whizzing by so fast, please let me know.
  13. Anastasia and I are planning to attend. Looking forward to seeing you all again, after missing a few years. Has the general meeting/photo area been decided yet?
