Yes. You can add some hammertone spray paint and create a Hermes- LHSA- MP. But that would not be worth collecting.

Yes, that is correct. and the other myth is to be a good photographer without using a light meter. You will not be able to "guess" the right exposure without knowing a lot of readings in different situations and remeber them. It is right, that you don´t have to use a light meter every minute of your shooting, but you have to know when conditions change and do the right settings. If you are two stops off, the image quality will not be perfect. Not with digital and not with film. It could be "ok" or "good enough". I always think of Ansel Adams and his aim to get the perfect negative witch leads to the (technically) perfect picture. No "guessing". Exactly knowing what to do is the aim. And, to be honest: We buy expensive cameras and the best lenses possible to accept grainy drowned shwadows or eroded higlights? -
But not every Film at any speed in any developer will work.
-
Alright then. Let's go.
-
I woild recommend to read about the basic knowledge of photography.

If you set the right aperture and speed due to your lightmeter readings, which is set to 400 ISO. Then you have to choose the right developer and developing time to get a good result out of the film. Your M-A is just a simple tool which does not care about film speed. As it is a film produced for cinema, I would not expect too much. Will not get better than a HP5, Tri-X or Tmax.

The most "Iconic" invention back then was the "M", the "Messucher" (german for rangefinder). The ability to focus precisely even in bad light conditions and thet even with a f4 or f5.6 lens, as you don´t rely on a mirror and prisma. If you want zone focus, a perfect lens and compact size, go for a Rollei 35S. I f you don´t have the time to "wait" for focussing then every Nikon AF-SLR will be a better choice. But then you can just stay with your DSLR or DSLM, as using a modern AF- Film Camera is the same feeling for me. -
Perhaps the meter comes to it's limitations with ISO 3200 Film. It will flash when it is too bright or too dark. Don't know the range, maybe EV -1 to 19?
-
Maybe, but people think that they have a very unique camera. And that is not the fact.
-
No. The M-A is a MP with a tin plate over the battery compartment.
