  1. I guess it’s the silence before the gentle breeze. No built-in thumb rest (fake lever), black paint and slightly below 10 grand (€). 😅 That's what a source was willing to share. And an indication of some sort of special feature. Probably the other ISO dial functionality already discussed here.
  2. Same here. Sold my chrome M9-P with new sensor and grey "a la carte" leathering for around 3,000€ to finance the M10 back then. 😔
  3. There was only the limited edition M10-R in black paint. It was the final version to end the M10 series.
  4. I definitely keep my M10-R BP as the last variant of the M10 family therefore a silver M11-D would be much more interesting to me. 😉
  5. Since I was on the fence about buying an M11-P, the confirming rumors of an M11-D now have me waiting for the final announcement. I hope they keep the thumb rest lever, and if it comes in silver chrome, that would be awesome! 🤩
  6. SL2-S + Apo-Summicron-SL 90 at f2.0, ISO 400
  7. Slightly off topic but a simple obersavation of myself concerning camera & lens choices: Since I own the combination of M10-R (40 MP Resolution) and Apo-Summicron 35 (Max. IQ) I’m pretty stuck to this duo. Even if my personal Lightroom statistics can't be objective for many reasons, you can clearly see that sensor resolution (and thus the possibility of cropping) in combination with the optical performance of the Apo-35 have clearly moved me away from a balance between 35mm and 50mm towards 35mm. I even use 28mm less. I'm already thinking about saying goodbye to some lenses. My personal Leica preferences have never been so clear. PS: Yes, I'm thinking about buying an M11-P. 😁
  8. Hi @Smudgerer, thank you for your response. Although I‘m slightly tempted towards acquiring the next gen M your post describes more or less my gut feeling. Perhaps I only regret that I sold my silver chrome M9-P (with cement grey leatherette) to finance the M10M and now I‘m looking for a substitute. 😁 PS: I like black chrome too but I finally wanted a Leica M to match my non-asph Summilux 50 BP. 😂
  9. True. 😎 Thank you Thorsten! God jul, Lars
  10. Design wise the M11-P in chrome is the camera I was waiting for since the M11 was introduced. And the premium you have to pay to get the P-Version is even less than I would have expected. Since I don't want to hoard digital Leica Ms one of my three remaining M10s (pictured below) would have to leave for an M11-P. But… reading all across the forum I can't find this sort of overwhelmingness about the IQ which would make me swap one of these (quintessential) M10s for the M11-P. So everyone here who can do a direct file comparison between the M10-R and M11(-P) please do so! It would help me a lot. 😁 Thank you and happy holidays!
  11. I always thought that M10 (-P, -D) with its 24 Mp is the sweetest spot for digital rangefinder photography. And then came the Apo-Summicron-M 35. This lens’ IQ is beyond believe. After using it on my M10 Monochrom (40 Mp) for quite a while – what a pairing! – I was able to imagine what kind of killer combo the M10-R and this lens would be. And so it happened. Since I got my M10-R BP the Apo 35 is more or less glued to this camera. And, even worse, I don't use any other M combination from my collection no Monochrom, no M10-D and almost no other lens at all! And yes, it has also to do with the ability of cropping. At least a 50mm lens is obsolete with this setup. Of course I like a good bokeh with the pre-aspherical Summicrons or the Noctilux but apart from this special setups I hesitate to go back to less resolution or less capable lenses (M10-R has also a better high ISO performance IMO than the 24 Mp predecessors). So for the first time in my "Leica life" going back is no option anymore. For some time I have been thinking about selling most of my Leica stuff, because it is simply no longer used much. Long story short: The M10-R is my favourite camera too. But… the 24 Mp still have a place in my photographic journey. The color rendering and the high ISO performance of the SL2-S are sort of special – to me. 😜 Cheers!
Zeche Zollverein, Leica M9, 2014 NRW-Forum, Leica Monochrom, 2015 Sylt, Leica M10-D, 2019
