New Leica M in September 2016? The speculations.
swamiji replied to Paulus's topic in Leica M (Type 240 / 262)
I don't use EVF either, but having more data available might be useful. Maybe it's just camera information... But I think Soden might mean this patent might make EVF irrelevant on the M... -
Just bought a Monochrom...and I'm having problems :(
swamiji replied to jonnyboy's topic in Leica M Monochrom
My experience with Leica NJ and Weztlar is if they have the parts, they are willing to work with the customer to resolve the issues in a reasonable manor. My experience in the rest of the Leica World is not so great. Both NJ and Weztlar warrantee the entire camera after service. Other Leica service centers in like China only warrantee the service they perform, and only for 90 days. So check the documentation you received from Leica, you may find a nice extension to your warrantee. And do get extra batteries... Congrats!!! -
I got the new Monochrom (Type 246), because my old Monochrom developed a sensor issue. I am not in a position as I travel extensively to wait for NJ for a repair. My dealer was willing to give me a good trade-in based on the idea that NJ would repair my old Monochrom for free.

Why would anyone want a Leica with no screen?

I assume it doesn't appeal to the OP, or they wouldn't ask. Ok, the Mod has spoken.., good bye -

I don't mind disagreement, but in a thread that asks for understanding about for why someone would want that, there should be allowances for a minority opinion. Not just your wrong, or it's bad. That does the OP no good. I assume the OP was for obtaining a minority opinion, am I wrong? If so I'll go away. -

You only see that because people who prefer a more traditional photographic style get jumped on, and I am tired of being troll food -

I don't understand where you get the idea that other cameras would/should be eliminated, nobody has proposed that or would want that. Only an additional model be added to increase the choice. It could be called the M-L. The L meaning the Luddite model... -

Which died, and has been resurrected. Goes hand in hand with Lomo. Which reminds me, the Lomo LC-A is 30 years old and still in production... -
The New LEICA M-P: Discreet, Faster, Harder

Maybe, but the whole bloody OS was written in it... -

Some people expect instant gratification and can't imagine a world without it. -

Are you referring to Lisp-C? IBM proprietary language. I tried to get a class in it but was not allowed. So I ended up disassembling the object code instead, ouch. -

Simply put, some of us value the skills that technology has taken from us. The camera in the OP would help in that matter. It seems that Leica does understand. -

That's a clear statement, thanks I however most likely will, that M-A looks really interesting! -
The LUF wiki mentioned it also works with the 28 Elmarit ASPH, and can verify it does work. I also tried it with my 50 ridged, that also works, and it allows me to use series VII filters. Actually I purchased the 12504 just to use series VII filters.

The 12585 says it's for 35mm and 50mm. The 12504 only mentions 35mm, on the hood.
