Advertisement Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 Hi abrewer, Take a look here Clouds/NoClouds. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
starwatcher Posted June 20, 2006 Share #2 Posted June 20, 2006 Allan, agree, the church photo without clouds would definitely loose its expression. Sometime ago I read an article about an architecture photographer who made all his photos on days with gray skies. Looking at his photos I recognized that there was nothing which detracted the eyes from the buildings. Pure concentration on the motif, no emotion, simply documentary purpose driven. I believe there is no right or wrong, it depends on what you want to express... and the church photo is marvelous (i it reminds me on a tiny village called "Shafter" in south-west Texas, close to Bend NP), it has this very decent character, which I love very much. Thanks for sharing! best - Klaus
christoph_d Posted June 20, 2006 Share #3 Posted June 20, 2006 Hi Allan, The picture of the church I like very much, particularly how the clouds frame the spire. In my view, a touch more room on the bottom would give the buildings more "solidity", a foundation. Best Regards, C.
whn Posted June 20, 2006 Share #4 Posted June 20, 2006 Allan, the bright white of the clouds and the building provide a very good contrast to the dark sky. Excellent picture.

stuny Posted June 24, 2006 Share #6 Posted June 24, 2006 Allan - They both benefit from your signature spare composition, but #1 really hits me as superb with its dramatic tones and contrast. Stuart

gverdon Posted July 2, 2006 Share #10 Posted July 2, 2006 Allan, the church's shot is really well built and clouds give a touch of sensuality in a very spartan ambiance. Gérald
