So here's the top 3 of the most loved Leica glass:

1. 24mm 2.8 (5)

2. 75mm 1.4 (2)

3. 75mm 2.0 (2)

We have a clear winner!!!

I'll update the top 3 as we go. Got nothing better to do with my life. haha.

Happy M-ing....

The most exiting surely has to be the Noctilux as you never know whether it will be focussed properly (or what sort of box it will come in). Ok, ok ..... I don't have one (yet).

For me so far the 28/2 ASPH and I am still in love with the MATE (especially at 50 mm)

The other lenses I have are the TE 90 (fat) and summaron 35/2.8 which I love to use with my M2. On the M8 both are fun as you get a classic look.

I shall blaspheme

My favourite lens on the M8 is the Nockton 35mm f1.2. It is better than any Leica lens I have in my opinion.

Others I like best on M8, in no particular order

CV 12mm

Zeiss 18mm

Elmarit 21mm

Elmarit 28mm

CV 28mm

Summicron 35mm

Summicron 50mm

Summicron 90mm

I will take 3-4 lenses to Cuba in a couple of weeks - to share between the M6 and M8. I always think its the best test, when you are forced to take not so many, and when other factors, such as weight, versatility and size, not just optical quality, really matter.

I expect I will take the Elmarit 21mm (for most things it is as wie as I will need, the other 2 really being speciality lenses, and the Elmarit is f2.8 of course), the El 28mm, which is a bit like an M8 lens cap and near to a 35, the Nockton 35 for low light and maybe, just maybe, the Sommo 50mm (although I prefer the 35 Summo there is little point in 2 35s on one holiday) - which will be my 'telephoto' lens on the M8!
