Guest Bernd Banken Posted June 28, 2006 Share #7 Posted June 28, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi Mauro, a greta shot with a special feeling in it. One question about the scan you did: In some areas of the pic it seems that there are dust particles to be seen. Especially in the white t-shirt of the skipper. I know that b/w scans are difficult against colorscans because a ICE is not able do distinguish corn and or dust. How did you solve this problem? Best Regards Bernd
Guest rubidium Posted June 28, 2006 Share #8 Posted June 28, 2006 Mauro, an excellent image that evokes serenity. I think B&W was a perfect choice. Well done!
mauro Posted June 28, 2006 Author Share #9 Posted June 28, 2006 I'm using a plustek 7200 for scan my photos. The scanner could work at 7200 ptical dpi, but usually I work at 3600. The negative film is fresh so I haven't a lot of dust. The problem for me is how to reduce the file, the scanned file need a level adjustmet but is ok. When I try to reduce to a 800x600 or near I loose a lot of details, so I need to increase the sharpness, but in this way some fine details seems dust. I post a 100% crop of the scanned file, you can see grain and mybe some jpg compression problem but no dust. The water have a lot of flower-dust.
