The adapter is very well made. The connections both ends are very tight with zero slack. It's now dark outside so I will take it out with me tomorrow and see if it was worthy of its $500 price tag[emoji30][emoji30][emoji30]

Well the camera felt very unweildly; it was just so big and heavy that I never imagined myself ever using them. There were some odd colour shifts and the lenses were flaring really easily. When they worked OK they worked OK but it was nothing like as good as my Summilux 50mm M. They were a bit, well, meh. I think the real problem was just how ridiculously large and heavy it made the camera (rather like the SL lenses I guess). I just knew I would never use it.

Well the ergonomics of the SL with my 250 Hassablad Super Combat lens IMOO is fine, its heavy but not as heavy as when I use my S lenses on the SL. Some of my favourite head jobs have been taken with the Hassy 250mm.

I will be trying the lens out later today and will post up the results........pictures to follow

V lenses on a Leica SL - really? What is the use case for this? I understand fun and curiosity, but else?

Taking pictures............what else would it be for

Kind of like wearing two jackets when its cold

Good you helped me out  :D, but I cannot elicit much more additional information from this statement. Anything else where you feel it gives you something you do not have with more compact lenses? Just curious, as I typically do not wear two jackets. I do have a 500 c/m, and while I like it, I enjoy it most by using it with the waist level finder, as I feel the weight is is then still acceptably balanced.

There isn't a case other than curiosity and fun. It's a 'because you can' exercise.

The V lenses add nothing other than weight. I love shooting my 501c/m as well but the lenses work far better on that than they do the SL. If a huge lens has both AF and reach I can see it being useful for sports or wildlife photography. If you want to shoot people with any kind of truth or meaning outside of a fashion shoot, it's about the last thing you want.

Well the Zeiss 110mm f2 for Hasselblad is wonderful on the SL (I used a collection of adapters to mount it)

It's great fun playing with old lenses, I'm having a Contax zeiss moment presently and enjoying the Contax 50mm f1.4 & 28mm f2.8 nice colours and contrasty.

I use two leica adapters in cascade .............................

I assume that is Hassy 110mm f2 lens.

It does look impressive but it is not only show in town. I assume similar effect can be achieved with Zeiss Makro Planar 100mm f2 in Nikon F mount utilising either single "ZF-SL" adaptor or two adaptors "ZF-M" & "M-SL", I am using the latter adaptor "cascade".

 Strap contact wear with camera looks a bit worrying?

Thank you, I realise that and have switched to Peak Design system .........

No, they have different effect ........ 110mm with silky soft rendering, while MP100 is more contrasty; I am using these two lenses according to situation

I am using Carl Zeiss ZE lenses together with a Novoflex SL/EOS adapter

I agree, having used it for portraits
