w44neg Posted April 3, 2017 Share #1 Posted April 3, 2017 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I bought this strap with an M9 several years ago. It was already worn but it's seen a lot more wear since. Today, after a long absence, there's a Leica body to attach to it. What's your favourite accessory? Ko.Fe. Posted April 3, 2017 Share #2 Posted April 3, 2017 To me, x1.25 viewfinder magnifier. Same like strap, it is attachable to any of my four Leica cameras (M3 DS ELC, M4-2, M8 and M-E) and it is good accessory for all four of them. Surprisingly, same little thing makes it better with different lenses and different frames.
otto.f Posted April 3, 2017 Share #3 Posted April 3, 2017 (edited) I think it's going to be my silver thumb grip on my M10, for the first time made by Leica herself for their camera's, so not a ThumbsUp. I'm waiting for it to arrive, I had a feel of it in the shop, the integration with the body and the finishing was excellent, very lightweight too Edited April 3, 2017 by otto.f
digger1914 Posted April 3, 2017 Share #4 Posted April 3, 2017 I bought a hald case from Luigi for my old M8, and got a strap as well. The case is out of use now, but the strap is a winner! My Thumbs Up is a close second.
lct Posted April 3, 2017 Share #5 Posted April 3, 2017 I bought this strap with an M9 several years ago. [...] Looks like the 14092 strap for M3 (pic). I still use it but i've removed the rubber pad many years ago. Classic cases in the UK makes a nice copy of it with a leather pad instead. http://tinyurl.com/qaogtpm http://tinyurl.com/qxq8gmm Welcome, dear visitor! The shoulder padding is knurled and really grips very well.
sblutter Posted April 5, 2017 Share #7 Posted April 5, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Luigi's M-Mate-M base plate. Had one on M9. Taking the base plate off to get to cards and battery is idiotic. In film cameras it made sense, now just a design artifact from M3. http://www.leicatime.com/ I'm on tripod a lot - can get to the card to check results on computer w/o touching the camera's position. After that - a bin of lenses
Echo63 Posted April 10, 2017 Share #8 Posted April 10, 2017 (edited) My favourite accessory is my new grip and finger loop - completely changes the way the M240 feels in the hand. I can also access my pics using a tablet or laptop while the camera is on a tripod (or even shoot straight to the computer) my strap is a one off custom built nylon adjustable strap using the supplied strap's end links. rafael_macia Posted April 13, 2017 Share #9 Posted April 13, 2017 I use 14092 straps on both M-P's. Every 6 month or so they get rubbed down with Leather Balm 75% (any shoemaker sells the stuff), and neetsfoot oil 25%.to keep them soft. They have worked fine for many many years. ( I am ashamed to say how many years.....at least 30!) The adjustability is the best part about the straps, and because of that, I never used the rubber pad. I can quickly bandolier the camera across my back when riding a bike, or shorten it to hang on my chest. When I did news photography, hanging two cameras was a lot easier with an adjustable strap. lct pointed out the 14092 copy, and it has adjustability. It looks great! and is reasonable too! I will look into that because I don't want to stretch my luck with my Leica vintage straps. I keep saying that. Rafael

( I am ashamed to say how many years.....at least 30!) [...] At least indeed . The 14092 strap is listed in my Leitz catalogs from 1961 to 1976 but not in 1981 anymore. Mine is older than yours anyway as i got it second-hand in 1982 with my M3 double stroke from 1956. Its destiny has been less glorious than yours though as it lives now on a mundane Panasonic Lx100 (pic). Great little camera BTW. Small, light, fast, silent and doing video without fuss. I dream of a digital M with all these qualities. I'll see that in my lifetime hopefully... Welcome, dear visitor!
