Mystery contacts bottom of M?

Yes, the contacts look to be exactly in the same position you see them in the M2 modifed by Norman Goldberg for the Electric Motor (1965 around); Leitz NY bought parts and patents from Goldberg and modified "officially" several M2 for use with the so called "Leitz NY Electric Motor" ; then (1967 around) Leitz Wetzlar even made a series of M2 marked as "M2 M". The story (which continued with modifed M4, then M4 MOT etc...) is well described in several books, with pictures, serial numbers etc...
