John McMaster Posted March 28, 2017 Share #1 Posted March 28, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have been using my 4 year old M(240) quite a lot this past week, often with Leica R adapter/60mm/EVF. It gave me a low battery/change battery warning so I did that but then it does not turn on again. There is no red light on rear of camera and nothing works...... I left the battery out overnight but it made no difference, has anybody seen this issue or will it be a trip to Wetzlar? john
Advertisement Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 Hi John McMaster, Take a look here M(240) not turning on. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
sblutter Posted March 28, 2017 Share #2 Posted March 28, 2017 Try another battery?
pop Posted March 28, 2017 Share #3 Posted March 28, 2017 Or another charger?
hunta Posted March 28, 2017 Share #4 Posted March 28, 2017 If you switch on and wait a few seconds do you see the framelines in the viewfinder and an sd message where shutter speed usually appears when you half press the shutter? Try a different SD card if so, could be corruption. Failing that, a trip to Leica I'm afraid (see my post from the weekend).
John McMaster Posted March 28, 2017 Author Share #5 Posted March 28, 2017 Three fully charged batteries, tried without a card as well as other cards, no electrics (neither red light on back nor v/f frames).... john
hunta Posted March 28, 2017 Share #6 Posted March 28, 2017 Sorry to hear that John. Hopefully you can get it to Leica relatively easily.
jaapv Posted March 29, 2017 Share #7 Posted March 29, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Might be a bad battery contact. Have a look in the battery compartment to see if there is something in there that you can rectify (like a piece of lint or slightly bent contact pin)
John McMaster Posted March 29, 2017 Author Share #8 Posted March 29, 2017 Thanks Japp, done that and rubbed the contacts but no go. Only a couple of days shooting left so the S2 will have to do things it was not really designed for ;-) john
