Andy, in this case the Color Version has one merit having a frame of a blue sky makign the viewer's eye focus on the centre.

Difficult to say, both are excellent.

Both are super, but the B&W strikes me as more dramatic.

 

The apprenticeship to build them is incredibly long, and there are certain peculiarities to the process, including asymmetry to enable the gondolier to propel and steer with one oar on one side.

Very nice. I t got me thinking that it was a familiar scene but your's is so 'summery'!

 

Jan 2010.  Cold, foggy, grey mid-winter and height of GFC with only Australians and New Zealanders travelling as our dollars were so strong against the Peso (sorry, Euro). How things change!

The B&W has almost too strong of contrast so I like the color photo best.  I really like the composition.

Looking at this on my phone I very much prefer the b&w. In fact, it looks like a really superb job of post processing. I'm anxious to see if that holds when I see it on my big monitor.

Just looked at it on my desktop and still really like the b&w. To me, it doesn't look oversharpened. I like the detail.

Andy, I much prefer the B&W but also think it's just a tad over-sharpened.
