X-U Users, how are you finding the camera?

Battery life is same as other Leica X models; it uses the same battery as the others; enough for a very intensive day's shooting. The difficulty has been the availability of spare batteries; it's been six months since I bought the camera and paid for two spare batteries, and I'm informed by Leica Australia that I'll be waiting another three months.

I have the x-u since the beginning of the year to use it for canoeing and other activities outside.

The camera is easy to use and the picture quality is oexcellent. My biggest concern was the autofocus speed, because some of the test reports rated it to be close to useless.

I work only with 1 field that can be easily placed all over the picture. In this case AF speed is okay.

No issue with the battery life. I have two cheap (< 10€) batteries with me that have a bit lower capacity, but work fine.

I can only think of the X-U as a great camera if it's as great as the Normal X 113 it must be amazing. I'd love to be able to shoot close/in the water.

Does anyone have trouble with the sunlight reflecting in the outer lens casing? I've had some terrible issues in the past when shooting with cameras in dive cases out of the water. I'm hoping Leica engineered it in a way to avoid that, so shots looks good in and out of the water.

The X-U is a treat , yet the AF can be very frustrating.

No issue with the sun or flare so far .

I'm also very Interested in this camera, but I don't know if I should wait for further update on this camera. This camera was launched beginning of 2016, and I don't know how often Leica updates to new machines.

Basically I'm afraid to pay this price now for this camera and maybe next year Leica sends a new model with a new sensor or functionalities.

Does someone know how often Leica updates their cameras?

No idea but  X-U cameras do appear at fair prices on the second hand market.  Bought mine used from a pro photographer. I'd hope for an new model with a larger sensor and/or wider lens.

Thanks.... me too. I wish a larger sensor, (wider lens would be great too). Added to Wi-fi/bluetooth connection and 4K video would be a perfect camera. That's why I don't buy this one, at least at this price. Until now I haven't found any used one.
