Leica NJ Lens Calibration Service

To LeicaUser7   I had a terrible experience with Leica Repair NJ.  I sent a M lens in for a simple CLA in May 2016.  I didn't get back until December 2016.  When I did get it back, it was leaking oil and focus ring was binding.  I was talked into returning it by the store for a redo in January 2017 and it took high level intervention to get it back just two weeks ago.  Now, I am sending it to DAG to fix that redo.  I regret not doing this to start.  I have used DAG before and all repairs came back perfect, in short order and done for what I consider very reasonable cost.  I will NEVER send any repairs to NJ, either they go to DAG or Germany directly.

I sent a 90AA for calibration last year, and it was back in 2 months. The lens was several years old, I bought it used, and it's been on lots of planes. The cost was around $300, but that included repair of the diaphragm, so I can't really break out the cost of calibration. It works much better now - it can be tough to nail the focus with that lens, especially at near distance.

What is the issue of it having been on a plane?
