A miller Posted March 13, 2017 Share #1 Posted March 13, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Is my exuberance of being able to shoot my favorite professional film stocks up to ten feet under water in manual mode with a 35mm f2.8 lens justified? Anyone care to share their experiences?
Advertisement Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 Hi A miller, Take a look here I just bought a Nikon "action touch" (L35AWAF) underwater camera for the beach.... I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
gbealnz Posted March 13, 2017 Share #2 Posted March 13, 2017 In my younger days, so a while ago, my brother had one, and it was a great all round camera. This is back in the days where nobody pixel peeped of course. He was a bit of a surfer, and I always recalled taking his camera in a downhill water feature, we called it a "hydro-slide". Got some amazing pics of my kids following me down the slide. Good move, especially for your blizzard conditions, and from the forecasts I saw yesterday you've got another few coming. A miller Posted March 13, 2017 Author Share #3 Posted March 13, 2017 Thanks for sharing your experience, Gary. It sounds like the camera came in handy for you and your brother. I'm thinking of this as more of a pool and beach toy than a snow toy. And am thinking that while the lens may not be an award winner, the pro film stocks should elevate the photos a little from back in the drugstore days (at least for people like me who used el cheapo film stocks back then). And yes, mother nature will unload on us once again tomorrow with a strong blizzard. I will be out and about, this time using a wireless hot shoe and receiver for some potentially creative flash use
