sblutter Posted March 9, 2017 Share #1 Posted March 9, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Recently I started a new B&W series, so went into the menu which I haven't visited in a long time - to DNG+JPG fine and film mode to B&W to get a preview. Running through the menu I noticed a lot of settings were not right: Metering not classic / center Lens recognition Auto - I've had that set to Off since M9 (everything I print is from DNG anyway) Self timer @ 12 secs (!?) Several more also needed to be put right - I didn't make note of them all FW: 2.0.3.0. Battery @ 90%+ Any ideas / comments? Not a big deal, but now I'll want to check 1st when heading out. A nuisance - and an unfortunate loss of confidence
Advertisement Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 Hi sblutter, Take a look here 240: Settings change themselves?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
lct Posted March 9, 2017 Share #2 Posted March 9, 2017 Happened to me with various cameras. Did you set some user profiles through the "SET" menu? If not, you may wish to do it and to save your profiles on your SD card and your PC as a precaution.
sblutter Posted March 9, 2017 Author Share #3 Posted March 9, 2017 At least I'm being singled out! I imagine if I can save it to the chip, can also save to computer and then install on other chips Not bad, thanks for the tip! I'll read more in the manual... lct Posted March 9, 2017 Share #4 Posted March 9, 2017 [...] I imagine if I can save it to the chip, can also save to computer and then install on other chips [...] It's just a file called "Profiles.M". You will find it on your SD card after saving profile(s) through "User Profile" / "Save as Profile" in the "SET" menu. This file will be erased when formatting the card so it may be prudent to save it to an hard disk or other media.
Daniel Beacock Posted March 9, 2017 Share #5 Posted March 9, 2017 Did you recently upgrade the firmware by any chance? Doing that will set the camera back to factory defaults. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
