I love following the developing seasons and early spring seems as good a place as any to begin (most of these pics in first post are already in the x2 picture thread but have been taken in the last couple of weeks to get me started) All pictures are taken with a Leica X2, often with the addition of one or two Elpro 2 attached that massively improve on the native close focus. 14 Quote Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

More and more, this forum seems to be more about just looking rather than commenting and interacting with each other. Wow, thank you! You are very kind. I genuinely appreciate anyone taking the time to even look. I'm really enjoying the camera, much more than I imagined and the elpro's have made it very versatile. Wonderful images - the image of the mushrooms is really beautiful. Thank you Alan- I think they are such a photogenic subject generally. I am afraid Brent is quite right. A Feedback is important for improvement and confirmation. Many Forums are limited to ex and hop consumer behaviour. I particularly like the wood sorrel image and the way your processing has made the flowers stand out by darkening the surrounding area, but leaving just enough detail in the shadow areas. I'm in Northern Ireland and we don't have much in the way of seasons really compared to a lot of the world.... I don't even remember the last time there was snow of any note off the high ground, maybe about 7 years ago. There are hardly even frosts over the winter. For not having much seasonal change, you are certainly making the most of what you do have. The moth, the feather hanging precariously on the end of the twig, the unfurling new growth (fern?)--just breathtaking! I love that little door someone screwed onto the hollow portion of the tree. In many ways I see photography as an act of communication and it's very encouraging when your own way of seeing something strikes a chord with someone else. As for spring, it's funny how quickly things can progress- crocuses are all but finished now but celandine are up everywhere. These were taken this weekend. jenniferx Posted March 21, 2017 Author Share #17 Posted March 21, 2017 I took the dog out yesterday (20th March 17) to some formal gardens/grounds and took more pictures than I know what to do with. Some wild/some cultivated. If it's a wild species I will put a (w) beside it and I will stagger posting them to avoid a massive deluge! The Lakeside Haircap Moss (w), I've never seen as perfect a carpet of this. The greens haven't been tweaked; the new growth is an almost electric green. jenniferx Posted March 23, 2017 Author Share #20 Posted March 23, 2017 Thank you both Yes NI gets a lot of rain- these particular gardens are a sort of microclimate that enable the growing of all sorts of exotic plants that wouldn't ordinarily survive. The Lake and Forest Walk Some kind of peace lily Green Shoots and Blooms in the sunlight Earth Star Fungus- in the spore spreading stage of life. Huge Tree- this was labelled, I forgot to look but I will check what it is next time!
