ynp Posted March 3, 2017 Share #1 Posted March 3, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Yesterday I received my S-Summicron 100mm. from Germany, with a permanent fix. Today I decided to test it and, because the S100mm. failed on my SL, I decided to shoot some small art objects for my wife with this Lens on my SL. Another lens was my S/H S120mm.Makro. I love my SL and it's glorious electronic viewfinder. But after 3 hours of stitching, bracketing and composing through the EVIL viewfinder I had a dull pain in my shooting eye. After a cup of tea, I put the Makro on my ancient S2 and felt a pure happiness. No strain on the eye, just total bliss. Sorry for my meaningless rant. I know, I should have tethered... I blame the autocorrection on my iPad. Sorry. Thanks. Edited March 3, 2017 by ynp

mgrayson3 Posted March 3, 2017 Share #4 Posted March 3, 2017 I love the combination of OVF and LCD magnify/peaking/whatever. I have no problem with the finder on the Q or the SL, but the S is special. Just my 2p, Matt
Vieri Posted March 3, 2017 Share #5 Posted March 3, 2017 Indeed, the OVF of my Leica S (007) is easily the best OVF I ever had the pleasure to use. Just as the EVF on the SL is the best EVF I had the pleasure to use. Just like the M's rangefinder is the best rangefinder I ever had the pleasure to use. It seems Leica knows a thing or two when it comes to finders, no matter the type and technology they use... Best, Vieri

ZHNL Posted March 4, 2017 Share #7 Posted March 4, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Nothing beat looking through big bright OVF like S with a true APO glass. I wish more people can experience that.
Deliberate1 Posted March 4, 2017 Share #8 Posted March 4, 2017 Without grossly exaggerating the experience of peering through the finder, I describe it as entering a dark movie theater and peering up at the illuminated screen. Just checked again to verify. Yep. That's it. David

relms Posted March 6, 2017 Share #11 Posted March 6, 2017 I equate the S's OVF to a large picture window looking out onto the world. Second place is not even close.
