Where do I find a Leica Replacement Lens Hood Cap for the 35mm f/2.0 SUMMICRON-M ASPHERICAL Lens.(14043) all places they are on back ordet and, I've just brought one, but no lens cap :(

I've looked on ebay but no luck, I would most like if it was a european dealer. Please help.

Regards Henrik

It's so easy to lose that I wonder why some Chinese hasn't yet made a cheap clone of the cap... maybe we Leica user are not a great Marketplace... but having experienced how quickly I lost mine, I would easily buy a kit of 5 or 6 chinese clones at a reasonable price, hoping in a duration of a pair of years... :)

Anyway... at the moment my kit is Summicron 35 asph with hood and filter as cap...

Leica must sell the hood cap together with the lens hood i suspect. But you can order the hood cap alone given that it has a separate product order.

Yes but it is in back order all over, and it is a cap not for the latest asph 35. And they all say it is so difficult to get it, it is a pice of rubber/plastic come on!

That one from Adorama is no longer available apparently, and sadly Leica discontinued the lens hood and cap when the latest 35mm f2 asph was introduced in c2016/17.

PS I must update my profile to indicate UK residence.

I have now located and ordered a second hand cap from RedDot Cameras of London. Not cheap, ouch!

I've been thinking how I can tether the cap to prevent this happening again. Maybe using a thread and needle through the edge of the cap, then tie to the lens. I've also seen proprietary anchor 'things' using a sticky pad and a loop of twine, similar principle.

Nice old idea from Leitz/Leica:

Leitz "0 Replica" cord attached to the body

or sliding "cap" difficult in this case to transfer the idea to your hood cap

Fishing transparent line can replace the "cord" to attach the cap to the lens, but not really practical when in use something hanging or waving when windy,

even worse in vertical framing 😏
