Advertisement Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 Hi marcg, Take a look here M1 - 1st generation/2nd generation sensor. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
geotrupede Posted February 21, 2017 Share #2 Posted February 21, 2017 there is no way unless Leica states it. the fw is the same for both G

coup de foudre Posted February 22, 2017 Share #4 Posted February 22, 2017 I thought I heard that Leica installs new software with the sensors? Functionally the same, but different numbers so you can tell... (I know none of this firsthand as I am only now finally sending my M9 and Monochrom to get their sensors replaced.) geotrupede Posted February 25, 2017 Share #5 Posted February 25, 2017 they did for the M9, but for the MM the new FW is the same for both, so no way to tell. G.
Budfox Posted February 26, 2017 Share #6 Posted February 26, 2017 Just put your camera in a steam room for 3 months and see if it corrodes. If not - definitely got a new sensor.
a.noctilux Posted March 7, 2017 Share #7 Posted March 7, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Some discussion here: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/268773-sensor-replaced-which-firmware/ mine came with firmware 1.016 I don't know what's the sensor generation, but that's not important for me, Leica do know and manage their best for that .
