To our esteemed admin - what is an M?

Lately I started a thread under Leica M cameras regarding a IIIG, and some of our members asked if a screw-mount lens camera can be considered an M. There is no subcategory for screw-mounts in M camera's category, although all but some very early Leicas were rangefinders.

Should the category be expanded to include LTM cameras?

With respect, and thanks for your marvelous support

Thank you. I had hoped for a more direct answer concerning the M and earlier LTM cameras which are Rangefinders and still pertinent within the rangefinder genre. Dunno.

Once again, another great topic left to be buried deep in the diverticulated bowels of the forum.....  Pity.....

I still think that "everything film" should have its own subforum and include:

-a sub forum for discussion regarding any Leica or Leitz film cameras (Barnacks, Ms, Rs) and other gear

-the "I like film" thread - which is the best thread in the forum by a mile (ok, a kilometer) - for photo sharing

-a subforum for discussion regarding any film topics

-a sub forum for discussion regarding film development, printing and scanning/PP

If this could ever be accomplished it would make the entire world perfectly in sync with the universe... :)
