duckrider Posted February 16, 2017 Share #4 Posted February 16, 2017 (edited) Barnack Leicas had 1/30 sec for flash time, for some use this might be too long. So Leitz decided to create this lens using 1/100 & 1/200 sec for flash use. some additional info: http://www.leica-historica.de/VIDOM93_1.pdf raaaaaaaaaaare item asking 5 digit price! http://collectiblend.com/Cameras/Leitz/Leica-IIIg-with-Compur-Summicron.html http://www.auction2000.se/auk/w.Object?inC=WLPA&inA=20130930_1754&inO=32 Thomas Edited February 16, 2017 by duckrider

Manolo Laguillo Posted February 17, 2017 Share #6 Posted February 17, 2017 But I have another question: what is the piece mounted on top of the shutter button? Thank you!
duckrider Posted February 17, 2017 Share #7 Posted February 17, 2017 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) But I have another question: what is the piece mounted on top of the shutter button? Thank you! Compur-Summicron mounted You have to open two shutters: first focal plane of the camera, now in the second step compur opens & closes, now the camera's focal plane shutter has to be closed. All this needs to be coordinated in right chronology. For this the arm on shutter button is for. The rarest part -often missed when a Compur-Summicron is offered!
