Hello Lads,

I have been shooting Kentmere 100 for a minute now. Some of the rolls I tend to push to 400 and really loving the results.

I find kentmere 100 when shoot at box speed to be sort of flat and pleasant in look but when rated at 400 it becomes angrier:) and with more character.  Not bad for a 2.5$ dollar film. Attached pic of my son Milan.

thanks !

Beautiful tones. Are you developing and scanning this yourself?

Thank you fotografr,

I have the film developed in my local lab and later scan myself with the Nikon Coolscan V.

Does the job.

I find the Nikon scanner getting sort of very deep into the negative, not sure how to explain it.

Often times when I tried having my film scanned in pro labs I would end up with amazing quality scans with great color, clean reproduction and all that...but they kinda felt like amazing photos of my negatives. Almost too clean and a bit of outside of the negatives themselves. I felt some kind of medium separation, they were lacking something. When I looked at the photos I would be like " oh, that is a beautiful picture of my negative " haha.

With the Nikon however I am more like " Oh, that's a lovely shot". The Nikon sort of brings the negative into the digital realm more organically I would say..but then again that could be just my impression and point of view on things since I am physically implicated in the scanning process. Anyways.

thanks for looking.
